Highlights from Wednesday in high school sports:
Dylan O’Neill finished with 23 points and 14 rebounds, Reese Widerburg scored 16 points, and Bobby Barajas had 10 assists and six steals to lead Oxnard (3-1) to a 59-42 victory over Oaks Christian on the second day of Bob Hawking Tip Off Classic at Simi Valley High. Sophomore Stevie Prudholme hit five 3-pointers and finished with 18 points for the Lions.
Gavin Wilder scored 15 points, Will Jagard had 13 points, Mitchell Halpern and Maddox Montolfo each had nine points, and Drew Romano added six points to lead Royal to a 64-49 victory over Ventura in the Bob Hawking Tip Off Classic at Simi Valley High. Luke Anestos finished with 18 points, Travis Valenzuela had 10 points and Kayden Gonzales added eight points for the Cougars (1-7).
Jordan Torres and Shawn Castillo each scored 17 points, Isaac Means had 11 points, Bryant Marchese had 10 points, Jamar Montesinos-Gonzalez had nine points, and Chase Aronowitz added eight points to lead Camarillo (5-1) to an 83-47 win over Nordhoff in the first round of the Nordhoff Tournament. Josh Rosen scored 13 points, Campbell Gaston had 12 points and Willem Rutherford added eight points for the Rangers.
Ethan Macias had 17 points and five rebounds, Rodney Adams finished with 13 points and five rebounds, and O’Neil Drury had 12 points and four assists to lead Rio Mesa (4-2) to a 68-33 victory over Cate in the first round of the Nordhoff Tournament.
Lucas Fenske hit five 3-pointers and finished with 25 points, Samson Hall had 23 points, 13 rebounds, three steals and three assists, Nick Parrott had 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Nate Tiedge drew a program-record five charges to lead Moorpark (8-1) to an 89-71 victory over Morningside in the Burroughs Tournament.
Angelina Santana scored 19 points, Ciara Gallagher had 11 points, eight steals and four assists, Kayla Lumas had eight points and three steals, Azalea Kubic had seven points, three assists and two steals, and Samantha McKenzie added six points to lead Oxnard (5-1) to a 60-27 victory over Arroyo Grande.
Gabriela Jaquez finished with 28 points, Emily Lim had 11 points, Anika Carey had seven points, and Keilani Peralta added six points to lead unbeaten Camarillo (6-0) to a 59-49 victory over Nipomo.
Jasmine Berry had 14 points, seven rebounds and two blocks, Avanthika Ramasamy finished with 13 points, eight steals, five rebounds and five assists, Kenedi Bikovsky had six points and five rebounds, and Natalie Ruiz added five points and five rebounds to lead unbeaten Moorpark (7-0) to a 42-34 victory over Burroughs.
Faith Madsen scored 16 points and Yannie Savage had 13 points for Simi Valley in its 41-36 loss to Cleveland in the St. Monica Tournament.
Maddy Tauro finished with 21 points, 11 rebounds and four steals, Erin Topacio had 13 points and three steals, Amia Witt had 12 points, five rebounds and four steals, and Jocelynn Townsend had 10 points and four rebounds to lead Calabasas to a 68-32 victory over Pacifica Christian in the St. Monica Tournament.
Toby Acevedo, Aidan Kelly and Sawyer Brooks scored goals to lead Ventura (1-1) to a 3-1 victory over Royal.
Jesus Montoya had a goal and an assist and Jose Fernandez scored a goal and played well in the midfield to lead Rio Mesa (3-0) to a 2-1 victory over Castaic.
Agoura defeated Chaminade 4-0 in its first home game of the season.
Newbury Park defeated Taft 3-1 in its home opener.
Oak Park defeated Fillmore 2-1. For the Flashes (0-1), Diego Alcaraz scored a goal off an assist from Arnulfo Zepeda.
Aleiyah Schexnayder scored the lone goal off an assist from Caelyn Jurado and Abby Lojewski and Jessie Heybl combined for the shutout in net to lead Camarillo to a 1-0 victory over Santa Barbara in its season opener.
Avery Odor netted a hat trick, Charlotte Ward scored two goals, and Erin Zeile and Abby Seawright had goals as Oaks Christian opened its season with a 7-0 victory over Alemany.
Fillmore and Channel Islands played to a 2-2 draw in their season opener. For the Flashes, Marlene Gonzalez and Fatima Alvarado scored goals and Isabella Regalado had an assist.
Jaidyn Wilson scored two goals, Maddie Martinez had a goal and an assist, Priya Torres had an assist, and Jadyn Buckley earned the shutout in net as Grace Brethren opened its season with a 3-0 victory at Simi Valley.
GIRLS WATER POLO
Jackie Starr had four goals and three steals, Ava Williams had two goals and two steals, Gabrielle Swaim and Sophia Wilson each scored two goals, Devin Varela had a goal, and Kathryn Salazar finished with 15 blocks to lead Buena (1-3) to an 11-4 victory over Nordhoff.
