Wednesday's Top Prep Performers from basketball, soccer and water polo

Nasir Meyer was named the league MVP after leading Agoura to a Marmonte League title.

Highlights from Wednesday in high school sports:

BOYS BASKETBALL

  • Dominik Contreras scored 26 points, Marcos Ramirez hit five 3-pointers and finished with 17 points, Nathaniel Gomez had nine points, Bobby Barajas had eight points, seven assists, five rebounds and four steals, Reese Widerburg had eight points and four assists, and Lukas Rea added six points as first-place Oxnard (23-2, 11-0) stayed perfect in Channel League play with an 85-57 win over Rio Mesa. Ethan Macias scored 17 points, Jackson Knowles had 11 points and David Williams added eight points for the Spartans (12-12, 5-5).

  • Luke Ortiz finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks, Zane Carter had 20 points and 10 rebounds, Daniel Ortiz scored 18 points, and Colin Guenther had four points, five assists and two blocks to lead second-place Buena (22-3, 9-2) to an 82-58 win over San Marcos (7-15, 5-4) in a Channel League game.

  • Sergio Ornelas had 16 points, 10 rebounds and two steals, Theo Briscoe contributed 13 points and five assists, and Alex Tamayo added six points and four steals for Pacifica (7-17, 1-9) in its 46-45 loss to Dos Pueblos (8-16, 3-8) in a Channel League game.

  • Luke Zuffelato scored 27 points to lead Santa Barbara (13-11, 7-3) to a 68-58 win over Ventura in a Channel League game. Caleb Sebek scored 22 points, Finn Fancher had 13 points and Jack Rose added 10 points for the Cougars (6-18, 1-10).

  • Trent MacLean and Elias Chin each scored 24 points as Thousand Oaks (19-5, 6-1) defeated Oaks Christian 70-65 to remain tied for first place in the Marmonte League. Isayah Garcia scored 22 points, Stevie Amar had 13 points, Stevie Prudholme added 10 points, and Troy McGovern contributed eight points for the Lions (18-7, 3-4).

  • Nasir Meyer scored 18 points, Zane Miller and Iggy Spayne each had 16 points, Zach Ourfalian had 10 points, and Leo Woronov added seven points as Agoura (16-8, 6-1) beat Newbury Park 67-58 to remain tied for first place in the Marmonte League. Cooper Lucas finished with 21 points, Charlie Muir had 15 points and Noah Cotton had 10 points for the Panthers (14-11, 0-7).

  • Gavin Murphy poured in 34 points and Peter Gray scored 13 points to lead Calabasas (16-8, 4-3) to a 69-60 win over Westlake in a Marmonte League game. Austin Maziasz finished with 17 points, eight rebounds and two blocks, Kayden Elsokary had 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Danny Bao had 13 points and seven rebounds, and Dante Deshautelle had 13 points and two steals for the Warriors (14-11, 2-5).

  • Ryder Mjoen scored 19 points, Justin Rener had 10 points, and Caleb Peters finished with nine points and five steals to lead Simi Valley (16-8, 5-1) to a 49-46 win over Camarillo in a Coastal Canyon League game. Chase Aronowitz scored 15 points, Tyler Hook had 11 points and Jack Bannon added 10 points for the Scorpions (14-11, 2-3).

  • Lucas Fenske hit three free throws with 2.6 seconds left and finished with 12 points and five rebounds, Braeden Kyle contributed 10 points, seven rebounds and two assists, and Blake Adams had six points, 15 rebounds and five assists to lead Moorpark (6-18, 1-5) to a 45-44 overtime win over Royal in a Coastal Canyon League game. Drew Romano scored a game-high 24 points and Ace Arnold had 11 points for the Highlanders (8-18, 1-5).

  • Dylan Benner finished with 27 points and eight rebounds, Sam Seiden had 10 points and seven assists, and Jeremy Goodcase contributed eight points as St. Bonaventure (16-8, 4-1) rallied late in the game to defeat Thacher 63-57 in a Tri-Valley League game.

  • Willem Rutherford hit five 3-pointers to set Nordhoff's single-season and career 3-point records and finished with 25 points to lead Nordhoff to a 58-47 win over Fillmore in a Citrus Coast League game. Rutherford has 68 3-pointers this season, breaking Nacho Vega's program record of 65, and 152 for his career, breaking Jake Boyd's record of 150. Campbell Gaston scored 14 points and Beckham Rutherford added 13 points for the first-place Rangers (17-6, 8-1). Isaac Weslow had 16 points and 14 rebounds, Nate Delgadillo had 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Jack Morris finished with seven points, seven assists, six steals and five rebounds for the Flashes (10-10, 6-3).

  • Javon Bobbsemple had 15 points and 10 rebounds, Da'shaye Williams finished with 13 points and three steals, Ta'jon Larkin scored nine points, and Shaun Holmes had six rebounds and three steals to lead Channel Islands (8-16, 5-5) to a 69-26 win over Hueneme in a Citrus Coast League game.

  • Jordan Ramirez scored 21 points and Jose Valdovinos had 10 points to lead Santa Paula (7-8, 6-3) to a 55-39 win over Malibu in a Citrus Coast League game.

  • Gavin Day finished with 27 points, 14 rebounds and six assists, Jomari Ong had 14 points and five assists, Brady Crawford had 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists, and Ethan Day contributed eight points and seven assists to lead Villanova Prep (6-13, 3-2) to a 62-45 win over Grace Brethren in a Frontier League game.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

  • Keilani Peralta hit six 3-pointers and finished with 22 points, four steals and two assists, Makenna Phelan had 13 points and seven rebounds, Christa Contreras contributed 12 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, Emily Lim had 11 points, eight rebounds, six steals and five assists, Daniela Rocha had seven points and two steals, and Janessa Berrelleza added four points and two assists to lead Camarillo (13-10, 4-1) to a 74-28 victory over Simi Valley in a Coastal Canyon League game. Frances Ellis scored 14 points to lead the Pioneers (10-13, 2-3).

  • Avanthika Ramasamy finished with 20 points, seven rebounds, seven blocks and seven steals, Kenedi Bikovsky had 10 points and 14 rebounds, and Haya Abdallah had 11 points and six rebounds to lead Moorpark (4-15, 2-3) to a 55-54 overtime win over Royal (2-17, 0-6) in a Coastal Canyon League game.

  • Jamilyn Carton finished with 20 points, six rebounds and two assists, Jordan Hayden had 10 points and seven rebounds, and Riley Mann contributed six points and eight rebounds to lead Agoura (13-11, 3-4) to a 48-35 win over Newbury Park in a Marmonte League game. Greta Heath had 10 points and seven rebounds, Skylar Komatsu had 10 points, five rebounds and three steals, and Kimiko Carmer added nine points, five rebounds. three assists and two steals for the Panthers (7-17, 1-6).

  • Faith O’Daniel had 11 points and six steals and Lola Donez and Makena Melito each scored nine points to lead first-place Oaks Christian (16-5, 7-0) to a 50-6 win over Thousand Oaks in a Marmonte League game.

  • Westlake (17-7, 5-2) lost 55-52 to Calabasas in a Marmonte League game.

BOYS SOCCER

  • Luis Santana, Brady Gabbler and Dragen Vrataric scored goals as Newbury Park (5-3-3, 3-2-2) handed Agoura its first Marmonte League loss. Justin Sosa scored both goals for the Chargers (6-4-3, 3-1-2).

  • Jaden Nachimzon finished with a goal and an assist, Ricky Esparza scored a goal, and Selim Ozleplebici had an assist to lead Westlake (10-6-5, 2-1-2) to a 2-1 win over Calabasas (3-9-3, 1-5-1) in a Marmonte League match.

  • Ian Boras and Aidan Davis scored goals to lead Oaks Christian (4-8-3, 3-3-1) to a 2-0 win over Thousand Oaks (9-7-2, 3-4-0) in a Marmonte League match.

  • Javi Castro, Sebi Alvarado and Felipe Quezada scored goals, Jett Barrett had an assist, and Leon Chavez earned the shutout in a net to lead Moorpark (8-6-3, 4-2-0) to a 3-0 win over Royal (6-11-3, 0-5-1) in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Michael Mariscal scored two goals, Hagen Hodio had a goal, and Michael Bjordahl had an assist to lead Camarillo (5-8-4, 2-2-1) to a 3-1 win over Simi Valley (13-6-0, 2-4-0) in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Chris Martinez scored two goals and Damian Renteria, Ivan Reveles and Adrian Nunez had goals to lead Channel Islands (10-4-3, 6-3-1) to a 5-2 victory over Hueneme in a Citrus Coast League match. Juan Juarez and Enrique Robles scored goals for the Vikings (7-8-1, 5-5-0).

  • Angel Mosqueda, Christian Salcedo and Kevin Guerrero scored goals as Santa Paula improved to 7-1-0 in Citrus Coast League play and 8-5-2 overall with a 3-1 win over Malibu.

  • Jesus Angel Avila finished with two goals and an assist and Arnulfo Zepeda had a goal and two assists for Fillmore (8-7-3, 5-2-2) in its 3-3 draw with Nordhoff (9-4-1, 5-3-1) in a Citrus Coast League match.

GIRLS SOCCER

  • KK Chowana netted a hat trick, Vivian Burrows scored two goals, Emma Naftzger had a goal, Alyssa Rice finished with two assists, and Layla Simon and Ava Bowers had assists to lead Westlake (11-1-2, 5-1-1) to a 6-0 win over Calabasas in a Marmonte League match.

  • Kailey Supa finished with two goals and two assists, Berkley Mape had a goal and an assist, Avery Oder, Charlotte Ward and Savanna Daniels scored goals, Scarlette Druian had two assists, and Ella Pfeiffer had an assist to lead first-place Oaks Christian (14-2-1, 7-0-0) to a 6-0 win over Thousand Oaks in a Marmonte League match.

  • Mia Barkan and Liv Ivie scored goals off assists from Serena Sanders and Lilian Werner to lead Agoura (8-4-2, 3-3-1) to a 2-1 victory over Newbury Park in a Marmonte League match. Mia York scored the goal for the Panthers (6-9-0, 1-6-0).

  • Anayah Davis, Yahaira Ramirez, Lupita Cisneros and Jennifer Galindo scored goals and Brittany Tirado and Karmen Parra had assists to lead first-place Santa Paula (11-1-1, 7-1-0) to a 4-0 win over Malibu in a Citrus Coast League match.

  • Marlene Gonzalez netted a hat trick and had two assists, Lizbeth Méndez had two goals and an assist, Monica Botello had a goal and an assist, Karissa Terrazas and Ashley Hernandez scored goals, and Karissa Terrazas and Fatima Alvarado each had two assists to lead Fillmore (8-7-0, 5-3-0) to an 8-1 win over Nordhoff in a Citrus Coast league match.

  • Channel Islands (9-6-0, 8-2-0) defeated Hueneme 1-0 in a Citrus Coast League match. Natalie Ruiz, Kimberly Cruz and Danahi Olea played well and goalkeeper Caroll Olivares made five saves for the Vikings (8-4-0, 6-4-0).

  • Aleiyah Schexnayder scored two goals, Catalina Anguita and Tiana Stouch had goals, and Kaylie Clem contributed two assists to lead first-place Camarillo (8-3-0, 5-0-0) to a 4-1 win over Simi Valley (2-9-1, 0-6-0) in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Gabriela Beauchemin scored the game's lone goal to lift Moorpark (10-4-0, 5-1-0) to a 1-0 win over Royal (4-11-1, 1-5-0) in a Coastal Canyon League match.

GIRLS WATER POLO

  • Victoria Ioannou scored six goals to lead Calabasas to an 18-1 win over Hueneme in a nonleague game.

  • Kathryn Salazar had five blocks, Gabrielle Swaim had four steals, Mikayla Salas had two steals, and Addison Bruno and Kendall Nagaoka each had a steal for Buena (13-12, 2-4) in its 16-0 loss to Dos Pueblos in a Channel League game.
