Weed from on high in Tel Aviv drone drop

If you're looking for a high in Tel Aviv - it might help to look up. Weed activists dropped small baggies of pot from a drone high above Rabin Square on Thursday in a bid to legalize the drug.

Onlookers rushed to grab their free baggie of weed in a stunt that was shared widely on social media... but the police were not as pleased.

Authorities said they arrested two men who operated the drone over the square, which is widely used for protests and rallies.

In a statement, police said they suspected the baggies were filled with "a dangerous drug". Photos distributed by the police showed what appeared to be pot inside.

Currently, medical use of cannabis is permitted in Israel while recreational use is illegal but largely decriminalized.
