Week 11 roundup: Garfield advances in Division V; Windham sidelined in Div. VII

CONNEAUT — Keegan Sell rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries as Garfield defeated Conneaut 48-21 in a Division V, Region 17 playoff game on Friday night.

The G-Men (9-2), seeded No. 9, advanced to next week's quarterfinal round at No. 1 South Range (11-0), which defeated Liberty, an MVAC rival of Garfield 35-6.

Garfield rushed for 308 yards on 45 carries Friday night and five players scored touchdowns. Jesse Grace's 4-yard scoring run midway through the second quarter gave te G-Men the lead for good, 20-14. Vinnie Granizio, Deacon Summer and Eric Geddes also scored for Garfield.

Danville 41, Windham 18

DANVILLE ― The Bombers fell behind 41-0 at halftime but managed to score three touchdowns in the second half.

Chase Eye rushed for 201 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and he passed for 80 yards to lead Windham (4-6), the No. 14 seed.

Windham actually outgained Danville (9-2) 371-367 but was done in by three turnovers, including two near the Blue Devils' goal line.

Walker Wessecker completed 8-of-9 passes for 160 yards and four touchdowns as No. 3 Danville advanced to meet No. 6 Hillsdale next Friday.
