Week 7 preview and predictions: After an 0-5 week, can Franklin County teams bounce back?

Last week was a week to forget in Franklin County.

The five football teams went 0-5, something they hope to not repeat this time around. It's the second half of the season, and each game is critical to postseason positioning.

Which teams can bounce back and get back in the win column this time around?

Here's a look at all five games, all kicking off on Friday at 7 p.m.

It feels like a lot has happened since that promising 4-0 start. The Blue Devils have dropped two straight, losing by almost three scores to East Pennsboro and losing a halftime lead to Northern.

Those are two solid teams, so it isn't time to panic, but this one might be considered a must-win.

Susquehanna Township is coming off a shutout win against Waynesboro and has been playing better football as of late. But if Greencastle wants to contend for a playoff berth, this is a game it needs to have.

Back at home after two weeks on the road, homecoming, it's all lining up for a bounce back.

Prediction: Greencastle-Antrim 28, Susquehanna 17

Mechanicsburg (2-4) at Shippensburg (4-2)

The Greyhounds dropped a heartbreaker last week at Gettysburg, but they have a chance to right the ship this week.

Mechanicsburg is coming off a win, but the team has scored 10 points over the last two weeks combined. The Shippensburg defense has been playing well, with the offense hoping to improve on recent efforts.

The rain last Friday threw a wrench in Shippensburg's plan, but with clearer conditions scheduled and back on their home field, the talented Greyhound squad should get back in the win column.

Prediction: Shippensburg 27, Mechanicsburg 14

Altoona (4-2) at Chambersburg (2-4)

The Trojans fought in the second half last week against Cumberland Valley, but got too far behind in the first half to really keep them in it.

The Trojans return home this Friday, but this is a tough spot.

Altoona is coming off a blowout loss to Harrisburg last week, and they are a talented team looking to bounce back in their own right.

Chambersburg should continue to fight and be competitive in this one, but the Lions might be too much for them.

Prediction: Altoona 31, Chambersburg 20

Gettysburg (5-1) at Waynesboro (2-4)

The aforementioned Warriors come into this one rolling following their win over Shippensburg, with the Indians coming into this one after being shutout by Susquehanna Township.

The offense for Waynesboro has had a tough time getting going to this point, but the Indians are going to need to put it together if they want to walk out of this one with win.

The Gettysburg train is moving full-steam ahead, and it's tough to imagine that stopping right now.

Prediction: Gettysburg 21, Waynesboro 10

Upper Dauphin (4-2) at James Buchanan (3-3)

The feeling of the first four weeks of the season for the Rockets has come down, after being outscored 99-8 over the past two games.

They return home in this one, but the challenge doesn't get any easier.

Upper Dauphin has won three blowouts in a row and is playing really good football at this point in the season.

Even with the strong record, the James Buchanan offense has had its ups and downs, and it may be tough to climb up in this one.

Prediction: Upper Dauphin 35, James Buchanan 14
