All the Week 8 South Shore high school football scores and highlights

Welcome to the last week of the regular season of high school football.

This is the last chance for teams to improve their playoff resumes to get into the state tournament.

Carver, Silver Lake, Randolph, Cardinal Spellman and Stoughton all have a chance to earn a spot with wins this week. All of those teams enter the week with two wins, needing one more to reach the three-win threshold.

Other schools like Weymouth, Bridgewater-Raynham, Archbishop Williams, Blue Hills and South Shore Tech are all in bubble territory.

Thursday, Oct. 27

Norwell 32, Abington 15: Derek Fitzgerald ran for three touchdowns for the Clippers (2-6) while Ryan Luccarelli returned a kick 84 yards for a TD and also intercepted a pass. Connor Foster added a field goal in the win. Abington's Michael Reilly threw a TD pass to Connor Pease and also kicked a field goal. AJ Nash had a long TD run for the Green Wave (3-5).

Friday, Oct. 28

Nauset 38, Carver 20: The loss eliminates the Crusaders (2-6) from the playoffs. Tyler Lennox threw a pair of TD passes to Derek Lopes. Cam Allain ran for a TD.

Cohasset 42, East Bridgewater 22: Will Baker starred for the Skippers (6-1) as he threw TD passes to Jamie Smith, Liam Appleton and Thomas Hansen in while adding two rushing TDs. Appleton also had a rushing TD. The Vikings fall to 3-5. Pat Donahue returned a kickoff 79 yards and Ethan Pohl threw a TD pass to Sean Kenn. Gage Johnson added a 2-yard TD run.

BC High 40, Malden Catholic 26: Carter Carroll threw a 58-yard TD pass to Brody Rice with 29 seconds to break a 26-26 tie, and Marshall Rice sealed the win with a pick-six for the Eagles (2-6). Hayes McCarron returned a kick for a TD. Brody Rice also had a pair of rushing TDs.

Milton 28, Natick 7: Owen McHugh threw a TD pass, ran for a TD and returned an interception for a TD for the Wildcats (7-0). Liam McLoughlin returned also returned an interception for a score while Shane Olsen had a TD catch.

Mashpee 36, Randolph 6: The loss eliminates the Blue Devils (2-6) from defending their Div. 8 state title.

South Shore Tech 16, Southeastern 8: Max Main and Todd Egan (125 yards rushing) had TD runs for the Vikings (5-2). Jared Madden added a 2-point conversion and 78 yards rushing. Bradley Pierre ran for a TD for the Hawks (3-5).

St. Mary's of Lynn 35, Archbishop Williams 19: The Bishops fall to 3-5. Joe Schwartz threw TD passes to Charlie Conners and Lorenzo Jackson in the loss. Marcus Thurston also had a TD run.

West Bridgewater 35, Bristol-Plymouth: The Wildcats (6-2) are on a six-game winning streak heading into the playoffs. Will DeLuca and James Harris both ran for two TDs. Sean Carter ran for the other TD.

Cardinal Spellman 34, Arlington Catholic 6: The win makes the Cardinals (3-4) eligible for the playoffs. Umarei Murray returned an interception for a score, and Jack Duffy had three TD runs and a TD pass for Jay Comeau. Duffy ran 19 times for 174 yards and was 6-of-7 passing for 74 yards. Brian Gallagher collected 87 all-purpose yards. Ryan Sluhocki (interception), Jason Kelly (six tackles, one pass break up) and Luke McSharry (two tackles for a loss, sack).

Holbrook/Avon 30, Bourne 8: The Bulldogs improve to 4-3. Marquis Dobay-Lindsay ran 23 times for 207 yards and three TDs in the win. Cameron Campbell needed only seven totes to tally 110 yards and a TD. The Bulldogs ran for 390 yards as a team. Senior Sam Hobart led the defensive effort by forcing and recovering a fumble.

Canton 37, Blue Hills 6: The Bulldogs improve to 4-4 while Warriors fall to 3-4.

Duxbury 42, Whitman-Hanson 22: Matt Festa threw three TD passes (giving him 21 on the season) and ran for another score, and Alex Barlow ran for two TDs and caught one of Festa's scoring passes as the Dragons (7-0) completed a perfect regular season. For W-H (4-4), Cam Burrows threw a 73-yard TD pass to Trevor Googins and a 20-yard TD pass to Will Frazier. Googins also hit Patrick Dolan with a 33-yard TD on a halfback option pass.

Foxboro 20, Oliver Ames 0: The Tigers fall to 3-5.

Hingham 21, Silver Lake 0: The Harbormen improve to 6-2 while the Lakers fall to 2-6. Brendan Hill ran for two TDs in the win while Matheus Neves added the other TD.

Bridgewater-Raynham 36, Middleboro 14: The Trojans improve to 5-3 while the Sachems fall to 6-2. B-R’s Dawson DuBose took his 32 carries and amassed 233 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Declan Byrne completed nine of his 14 throws for 101 yards and two touchdowns. Myles Beckett recorded two sacks and an interception. Ryan Catino made four catches for 58 yards and one TD. For Middleboro, Jacob Briggs completed 10-of-17 pass attempts for 127 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT and Justin Mather made four catches for 77 yards.

Hanover 42, North Quincy 0: The Hawks improve to 6-2 while the Raiders fall to 2-5. Ben Scalzi was 11-of-14 passing for 214 yards and two TDs (30 yards yard to John MacDonald, 10 yards to Joe Curran). Nick Freel ran 10 times for 90 yards and two TDs. Curran hauled in six passes for 93 yards. Mehki Bryan recovered a fumble for a TD and Vinny Mancini closed out the game with a 63-yard TD run.

Marshfield 33, Plymouth North 0: Jack Marini had three TD runs for the Rams (6-2). Charlie Carroll added an 11-yard TD run and Thomas Kelly kicked a 23-yard field goal. The Blue Eagles fall to 0-8.

Plymouth South 28, Scituate 21: The win locks up the Patriot League Fisher Division championship for the Panthers (8-0). Cole Brunstrom threw a pair of TD passes to Jamie Andrews (29 and 39 yards) in the win. Casious Johnson ran for a pair of TDs. Colin Morley (two TD runs) and Lawson Foley (TD catch) scored for the Sailors (3-4).

Quincy 21, Pembroke 14: The Presidents improve to 4-3 while the Titans fall to 3-5. Gabe Rodrigues starred in the win as he ran 33 times for 126 yards and a pair of TDs. He also made nine tackles on defense and intercepted a pass.

Mansfield 31, Stoughton 0: The Black Knights fall to 2-6.

Weymouth 44, Brookline 0: The Wildcats improve to 4-4.

Milton Academy 20, St. Sebastian's 13: The Mustangs (4-2) won an ISL game on the road.

Saturday, Oct. 29

Wellesley 28, Braintree 7: The Wamps fall to 4-4.

Hull 26, St. John Paul II 6: The Pirates (8-0) finished the season undefeated as John Gianibas ran for three TDs. Luke Dunham also scored a TD while Tom Burke had 117 yards of offense. Ethan Campbell made seven tackles and Tyler Sordillo had a pair of QB sacks.

Brockton 48, Durfee 0: Maurico Powell ran for three TDs (89, 70 and 42 yards) in the win for the Boxers (7-1). Oluwakoleade Osinubi had TD runs of 22 and 18 yards. Jayden Wooten tossed a 41-yard TD pass to Jaden Lopes Ribeiro and Zaquan Barnes scored on a 5-yard run.
