Week in Art: East Window opens new Boulder space, graphic novel premiere at the Dairy and more

The Crowd Collective: The opening reception for "Portals," by Boulder artists Andrew Barker and Dani Loujo, will kick off during NoBo Art District's First Friday art walk 6-9 p.m. Nov. 4; 4939 N. Broadway #58, Boulder; thecrowdboulder.com.

East Window: The art space just moved and kicks off its opening with a reception for Denver-based artist Yvens Alex Saintil's exhibit, "Photographs." Saintil is known for his diverse works that aim to spark conversations centered around police reform and accountability, veteran mental healthcare, gun violence and activism; the exhibit, curated by East Window's Todd Edward Herman, will be on display through Jan. 29; 7-9 p.m. Friday; 4550 Broadway, Suite C-3B2, Boulder; eastwindow.org.

Graphic Novel Premiere at The Dairy: Join comics creator R. Alan Brooks, along with artists Kevin Caron and Jolyon Yates, to celebrate his new graphic novel, "Anguish Garden II," a stylized dramatic graphic novel that deals with themes of how people become radicalized, and how to avoid it. Saturday, the creators will do live drawings, answer questions and talk about the book. The first 50 people will get a free copy.
