Last February at a cocktail party during Milan Fashion Week, Aussie actress Elizabeth Debicki was announced as the Women in Film and Max Mara’s 2019 Face of the Future. And on Tuesday night, Debicki was fêted once more, this time in the heart of Hollywood at a garden party at Chateau Marmont.

Max Mara has long been a patron of the arts; under the directorship of Maria Giulia Maramotti, the slick Italian sportswear brand has supported groups like Ballroom Marfa and the New York City Ballet. Since 2006, Max Mara has partnered with Women in Film (an organization dedicated to the advancement of women in media) to shine a light on up-and-comers in the industry. Past recipients of the Face of the Future Award include Zoey Deutch, Natalie Dormer, Kate Mara, Rose Byrne, Hailee Steinfeld, Chloë Grace Moretz, and Katie Holmes.

This year, all eyes were on Debicki, who has had an exciting couple of years—a Vogue cover story and the films Widows and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. “We really love Elizabeth’s approach to her work, her commitment to the culture represented by the movies she has made, and the bold choices of her characters,” explained Maramotti.

There to partake in the celebration were the likes of Suki Waterhouse, Olivia Wilde, Lake Bell, Zoe Lister-Jones, and January Jones. Seems Women in Film had no trouble bringing out a slew of the industry’s best.
