JetBlue is still the new kid on the block

In 2022 JetBlue started service between Milwaukee’s Mitchell International Airport and Boston’s Logan International Airport, as well as New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

At Mitchell, JetBlue one of only two airlines serving JFK and competes with Delta Air Lines on the Boston route. It also competes with Delta and United Airlines for nonstops between Milwaukee and the New York City metro area.

In 2022, JetBlue was the sixth biggest airline in the country accounting for 5.5% of the market, a marginal increase from previous years.

JetBlue looking to grow in its second year at Mitchell

In 2022 Traffic at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport continued to move closer to pre-pandemic levels with passengers taking 5.4 million flights last year — almost 1 million more than in 2021.

The airline started operations in Milwaukee and said it is focused on growing operations back to levels seen before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2022, JetBlue accounted for approximately 108,000 of the passengers at Mitchell which put the airline at nearly 2% of the market share in Milwaukee. Increased service and taking passengers from competitors could see the JetBlue grow even more in the next year.
