MONDAY

Discover Tall Ship Pinta

9 a.m. Jan. 5 through Jan. 22. Plaza De Luna, 900 S. Palafox St. A replica of Christopher Columbus’ famous ship will be open for dockside educational tours. The Pinta was the first ship to sight land in the “New World” on Oct. 12, 1492. The Pinta tours as a ‘sailing museum’ for the purpose of educating the public and school children on the ‘caravel’, a Portuguese ship used by Columbus and many early explorers to discover the world. Monday Night Blues

7 p.m. Jan 9. Seville Quarter, 130 E. Government St. Seville Quarter and the Blues Society of Northwest Florida are bringing the “blues” back to the Seville Quarter Entertainment District. THURSDAY

New Year, New Boots

11 a.m. Jan. 12. Flora-Bama Lounge & Package, 17401 Perdido Key Drive. Snowbirds are invited into the Flora-Bama for a hoe-down on the line. Experience the essence of the Perdido Key area from Gulf Shores to Pensacola. There will be plenty of vendors giving away free goodies, along with music, games and door prize drawings. FRIDAY

Bootleg Ball: Molls and Mugshots

7 p.m. Jan. 13. Museum of Commerce, 201 E. Zaragoza St. The Bootleg Ball will celebrate the troublemakers of the '20s gangsters, mobsters, politicians and molls. This is a fundraiser for the University of West Florida Historic Trust. The attire is 1920s-era gangster. Non-member: $125. UWF Historic Trust member: $100. VIP: $200. SATURDAY

Bear Bait Ultras

8 a.m. Jan. 14 and 15. Adventures Unlimited, 8974 Tomahawk Landing Road, Milton. Come join the Bear Bait family for an old-school, low key and well-organized ultra. Take on one of the 50-mile, 50 km, 25 km, or four-mile distance runs. Challenge yourself further by running multiple events in the weekend with the Bear Challenge Combinations. The course will be a 4-mile loop. It traces along Wolf Creek and Coldwater Creek taking participants through several different ecological environments, with technical sections, fast-flat sections, twisty trench sections and groomed nature trail sections. Inferno Burlesque

Krewe of Seville Mardi Gras Ball

7 p.m. Jan. 14. Sanders Beach Community Center, 913 I St. The Krewe of Seville is hosting a Mardi Gras Ball featuring live music by Mass Konfuzion, and open bar and heavy appetizers. The dress is tuxedos and floor length gowns. More info: pensacolamardigras.com.

Beethoven and Blue Jeans

7:30 p.m. Jan. 14. Saenger Theatre, 118 S. Palafox St. Whether you dress up or dress down, join the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra for this annual celebration of Beethoven, anchored by the composer’s Seventh Symphony. With themes of adversity and ultimate triumph, the symphony is a notable example of Beethoven’s ebullient side. Under the baton of guest conductor Lawrence Loh, the orchestra will also perform Berlioz’s Roman Carnival Overture, Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, along with music by contemporary composers Carlos Simon and Polina Nazakinskaya. 8 p.m. Jan. 14. Whiskey Joe’s, 400 Quietwater Beach Road, Suite 13, Pensacola Beach. The Krewe of Daisy Dukes is hosting their annual Thrillbilly Ball featuring live entertainment from Vinyl Revival, an open bar and light food. The dress attire is western chic. $65. SUNDAY

Krewe of Blues Pin and Bead Festival & Charity Diaper Drive
