Week in review: Here are highlights in prep sports from 1st week of new year

Boy Basketball

Victory Christian 93, Auburndale 87

Highlights: LJ Cason scored 57 points and added 11 rebounds and seven assists to lead the Storm over the Bloodhounds. Mike Andino scored 15 points, and Jordan Lanier added 10 points and seven rebounds. It was Victory's 10th win in 12 games.

Victory Christian 76, Bell Creek 66

Highlights: Victory handed Bell Creek just its second loss of the season in 15 games while improving to 11-2. Mike Andino connected on three 3-pointers and finished with 22 points. LJ Cason added 17 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds. Andrej Milutinovic had 12 points and four rebounds, and Joziah Scott added 12 points and three steals.

Winter Haven 71, Lake Wales 45

Highlights: Jamie Phillips Jr. scored 19 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out 10 assists to lead the Blue Devils. Isaac Celiscar scored 18 points with eight rebounds and three steals, and Dylan James scored 12 points with 10 rebounds, three assists and three blocks. Kjei Parker added seven points, four rebounds and five assists.

Bartow 74, Lake Wales 62

Highlights: Jayson Williams scored 27 points and added 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals to lead Bartow. Jemirion Butler adored 14 points, and EJ Horton and Nate Smathers had nine pointe each.

George Jenkins 37, McKeel 36

Highlights: Jasquan Cross led the Eagles with 16 points, including 12 points in the second half. Maddox Harold scored 11 points. McKeel was led by Alex Sessoms with 16 points, but Jenkins held him to just four points in the second half. Vann Osman scored all his eight points in the second half.

Davenport 50, George Jenkins 42

Highlights: EJ Rodgers led Davenport with 20 points, and Chase Ragin-Moore scored 17 points. Antonio Wright scored 23 points to lead the Eagles. Maddox Harold added six points.

Jordan Christian 81, Ocala Meadowbrook

Highlights: JCP moves to 14-4 with a victory over Ocala Meadowbrook. The Seahawks were led by Zay Mosley with 14 points 11 rebounds and six assists, Jickeson Masson with 16 points, William Reyes with 13 points, Vlad Yacaman with 11 points 6 assists and Hans Dorelus with 10 points and seven rebounds. The Seahawks play at Lake Gibson on Tuesday

Santa Fe Catholic 62, Masters Academy 52

Highlights: The Crimson Hawks, after a tough Christmas break (2-4) against high level competition, knocked off previously 12-1 Oviedo Masters Academy. Santa Fe was led by Zeq Munoz with 18 points, four rebounds and two steals. Aiden Jones scored 17 points with five rebounds. Sophomore Tate Darner 11 points, four rebounds, three steals, and freshman Toby Lane scored 10 points and four assists.

Girls Basketball

George Jenkins 38, Kathleen 32

Highlights: Nellie Jackson scored 15 points, Morgan Walsh scored 12 points, and Taylor Gibson added 10 points. For Kathleen, Amaya Shaw led with 24 points.

Winter Haven 70, Lake Wales 14

Highlights: Serenity Hardy scored 25 points with five rebounds and four steals to lead Winter Haven, and junior guard Autumn Brown added points points. Jamere Robinson scored nine points for Lake Wales.

McKeel 32, Victory Christian 30

Highlights: Sydney Jackson led McKeel with nine points, three rounds and one steal. Malayna Sheffield had two points, 12 rebounds, five steals and three blocks. Victory was led by Bianca Barroso's 18 points.

McKeel 32, Tenoroc 13

Highlights: McKeel defeated Tenoroc at home due to their stifling defense. Kerissa Howell had 11 points, five rebounds, one assist, and six steals.

Boys Soccer

Lakeland Christian 5, Lakeland 0

Highlights: Hale Ottman scored two goals, including one on a a penalty kick, and Tripp McLaghlin, Micah Roloff and Adrian Villanueva had one goal each.

Lakeland 4, Zephyrhills 0

Highlights: Breckin Southern, Sami Djahankhah, Jackson Winter and Jose Nava led the Dreadnaughts with one goal each. Conor Melvin had two assists, and Calum Muldoon added an assist.

Davenport 5, Lake Wales 2

Highlights: Emanuel Ramirez scored three goals, Anthony Zuniga and Jean Lopez Lopez scored one goal each. Anthony Hernandez had two assists.

Girls Soccer

Lakeland Christian 4, Winter Haven 0

Highlights: Mari Carr scored two goals. Carly Sabat and KJ straub scored a goal each. Kaelyn Diaz had two assists, Destinee Carroll one assist, and Caroline Morin had one assist.

Lakeland Christian 2, George Jenkins 0

Highlights: Ella Williams and Destinee Carroll each scored one goal. Lily Harrington, Carly Rabat, Kaelyn Diaz each had one assist.

Victory Christian 2, Santa Fe Catholic 0

Highlights: Sylvia Rodriguez's long pass set up a sprinting Abby Tattrie for Victory's first goal. Hayden Fullwood set up Gaby Figueroa for the Storm's second goal. Alaina Fountain's clean sheet performance in goal was backed up by strong defending from Ella Lewis, Amber Choquette and Heather Batts."

McKeel 4, Auburndale 0

Highlights: Ava King scored all four goals to defeat a strong Auburndale squad.

McKeel 5, Lake Howell 1

Highlights: Ava King scored twice, and Kadence Rinaldo had a goal and an assist to lead the Wildcats. Maria Nielsen scored once, Sophia Previte scored once, and Madison Caustic and Abygail Shannon each had one assist.

Auburndale 8, Davenport 0

Highlights: The Bloodhounds improved to 7-3.

Winter Haven 5, Sebring 1

Highlights: The Blue Devils were led by Jayla Waters with two goals, Bailey Woodruff with one goal and one assist, Jordyn Frazier with one goal and one assist, and Karsyn Burke with one goal. Morgan Sheldon, Reagan Mason and Kennedy Miller each had one assist.

Lakeland 1, Bartow 0

Highlights: Leighton Wyatt scored one goal, and Adriana Olivera had one assist.

Lake Wales 9, Sebring 0

Highlights: Lily Border and Bailey Dykes each scored three goals with three assists, and Guila Soares had two goals and two assists to lead Lake Wales. Hannah Lightsey scored one goal, and Kiley Alderman and Kendall Clark each had two assists, and Maddie Artheur and Sara Castro had one assist each.

Ridge Community 4, Kathleen 0:

Highlights: Kathleen had 9 shots on goal with Addi Moye as the lead shooter with 4 shots on goal.

George Jenkins 8, Mulberry 0

Highlights: Ashlyn Maslyn scored three goals, Kyla Vern and Georgiana Srawbridge scored two goals each, and Camarin Hess scored one for the Eagles. Srawbridge and Mia Overbaugh each had two assists, ad Ella Skeates had one assist.
