Note: Schafzahl scored a pair of power play goals in the first period to guide the Catamounts (12-9-2 overall), who improved to 9-6-1 in Hockey East to slide into sole possession of third place in conference standings.

Jan. 18: Vermont 9, Holy Cross 0

Note: Vermont (13-9-2, 10-6-1) set a program Division I record for most goals scored and won by the widest margin ever against a Hockey East opponent. .. UVM led 7-0 through two periods.

Note: Vermont falls to 3-14-2 overall and 2-7-2 in Hockey East. Northeastern, the 12th-ranked team in the country, improves to 16-5-1, 8-3-1

Jan. 21: Vermont 2, Boston U. 1 (OT)

V: Will Lemay 1G. Timofei Spitserov 1G. 42 saves.

Note: Spitserov scored the game-tying goal in the third period and Lemay won at 2:30 of overtime to lift the Catamounts(3-14-2, 2-7-2) to the road victory, snapping a six-game winless streak.

Jan. 22: Vermont at Boston University

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

N: Kiana Brereton 13 points, 5 rebounds.

Note: Vermont led wire-to-wire with all five starters scoring in double figures. A 22-8 run in the third quarter run powered the Catamounts to their seventh home win of the season. NJIT came into the game two spots ahead of the Cats in America East standings.

Jan. 21: Vermont 77, Hartford 60

V: Emma Utterback 21 points, 5 assists. Delaney Richason 16 points, 6 rebounds. Anna Olson 10 points, 5 rebounds. Catherine Gilwee 6 points, 5 assists. Sarah Wells 9 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists.

H: Paula Maurina 15 points. Abby Streeter 11 points.

Note: UVM used a 23-11 second quarter to take control, improving to 10-7 overall and 4-2 in America East. The Cats scored 37 points off 27 Hartford turnovers and gained a 39-29 edge on the glass.

Jan. 23: Vermont at Hartford

MEN'S BASKETBALL

Jan. 19: Vermont 83, NJIT 57

V: Nick Fiorillo 18 points. Finn Sullivan 18 points. Ben Shungu 13 points. Ryan Davis 13 points, 7 rebounds.

N: Miles Coleman 16 points.

Note: Vermont continued its hot streak by shooting 48% from beyond the arch for the game. Sullivan netted all of his points from deep (6-6) and Fiorillo also drilled four three-pointers off the bench. The Catamounts are on a six-game win streak.
