Weekend crash in Stuart leaves motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries
STUART – A motorcycle rider sustained life-threatening injuries in a crash over the weekend just east of U.S. 1, according to a Martin County Fire Rescue spokesperson on Tuesday.
The Saturday crash happened about 4:40 p.m. at Southeast Monterey Road and Southeast Dixie Highway, Cory Pippin, fire rescue spokesperson, stated via text.
The crash involved a car and a motorcycle, he said.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, sustained life-threatening injuries. He was flown via helicopter to a local trauma center, Pippin stated.
No one else was injured.
The crash is being investigated by the Florida Highway Patrol, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
A request for information from an FHP spokesperson was not fulfilled Tuesday.
