Touch a Truck

9-11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29 at parking lot north of Adel City Hall.

The Adel Public Library will host a Touch a Truck event on Friday, Sept. 29. Spend the morning touching and exploring all kinds of different vehicles including a garbage truck, an ambulance, a semi and more. The Teen Advisory Board will be selling water bottle stickers for $2 to raise funds for future events at the library.

Van Meter Visitor Festival

12-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 at 910 Main St., Van Meter.

Come discover the legend of the Van Meter Visitor! This paranormal festival celebrates an unexplained event in Van Meter's history and brings many professionals from the paranormal field together for a fun and informative day. Join us for food, guest speakers, to stock up on paranormal merchandise and meet investigators and authors in this unique field. Vendors and guest speakers will be at the Veterans Reception Center from 12-6 p.m. Admission to the festival is $3 per person over 12 years, 12 and under free. Admission paid at the door on festival day. Walking tours will be at 3 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. in downtown Van Meter. Please meet in front of the Van Meter Public Library, 505 Grant St., 15 minutes prior to tour time. Tours cost $3 per person over 12 years, 12 and under free. Cruise Into Bouton

2-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 at City Park, Bouton.

The 7th Annual Cruise Into Bouton Car Show will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30 in a new location at city park. Vehicle registration starts at 1 p.m. Registration is $15 and proceeds will benefit victims of domestic and sexual violence, violent crimes and homicide. The event, hosted by Crisis Intervention Advocacy Center, will also include a live auction and music. Alcohol will be provided by Drifters.

Washington Township School Pork Supper

5-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 at Washington Township School.

The Washington Township School annual pork supper will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30. The menu will include roast pork, cheesy potatoes, coleslaw, green beans, roll, dessert and drink. A free-will donation will be taken, with proceeds going to maintain the school.

PerryDice Cruizers Car Show

10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 at Second and Willis, Perry.

Cruize in to Perry on Saturday, Oct. 7 to show off your car, truck, or bike and check out all the other entries from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. No entry fee and all cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome. Trophies will be awarded for all participants. A free-will donation will be taken with proceeds going to benefit Raccoon River Pet Rescue. Music will be provided by KDLS Raccoon Valley Radio. A free seminar, Welcome to Medicare, will be offered on Oct. 11 by the State of Iowa's Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) and Dallas County Hospital. The seminar will cover Medicare Parts A & B benefits, prescription drug benefits (Part D), Medicare advantage plans, Medicare supplement insurance, identify Medicare fraud, errors and abuse. ADM Gala

5:30-11:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 at The Rewind Hotel.

On Saturday, Oct. 14 the ADM Athletics Booster Club will host its first annual ADM Gala. This is a fun night for adults to raise money for all of the activities that are supported by the booster club. There will be an excellent meal, a variety of games and contests, live and silent auction and live music. This is a great event that will have a positive impact on our athletes and bring our community together! Individual tickets are available as well as tables of 10.

Smoked Pork Lion Supper

5-6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20 at Woodward Christian Church, 411 South Main, Woodward.

Woodward Christian Church will host a fundraiser for mission projects on Friday, Oct. 20. The menu will include smoked pork lion, cheesy potatoes, seasoned green beans, pie/assorted desserts and drink. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Dine in or carry out options will be available.
