Weekend fire damages Windham home

Mar. 8—WINDHAM — Local responders from many area fire departments were called Saturday afternoon to a first- alarm house fire in South Windham.

The home was in the Willimantic Camp Meeting Association and it suffered extensive damage.

Crews first responded to the fire at 2: 33 p. m., according to a post on the South Windham Fire Department's Facebook page.

Department public information officer Ted Colwell said the fire occurred at 47 Jaynes Ave.

Colwell said although the camp is located in Willimantic, it falls within South Windham's fire district.
