Pleasantville Music Festival: After a two year hiatus, the Pleasantville Music Festival will return this weekend. Also referred to as "New York's Backyard Jam," the festival will bring 18 bands to the village's Parkway Field on July 9 for nine hours of music across three stages — the Chill Tent, the Party Stage and Main Stage. The festival features an array of music genres including bluegrass, varying styles of rock, R&B and more. The festival will also feature the Captain Lawrence Beer Garden as well as food options, and crafts and merchandise for sale.  Headliners include Crash Test Dummies, Clare Maloney and the Great Adventure, and Black Joe Lewis and the Honey Bears. Stormville Airport Flea Market: It wouldn't be summer without this expansive market which offers shoppers, oglers and browsers the chance to check out everything from antiques and collectibles to crafts and new merchandise. Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival: The season begins with "Romeo & Juliet" by William Shakespeare and directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, which will conclude on Sept. 18. "Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play" by Anne Washburn with music by Michael Friedman and directed by Davis McCallum will play in repertory with "Romeo and Juliet" beginning on July 8 and run through Sept. 17. Shades of Bublé: This three-man tribute to Michael Bublé celebrates the career of multiple Grammy Award-winning recording artist Michael Bublé by performing some of his hits while the three-part harmony sound made popular by the famous “guy-groups” from the 1950s and 60s. The Nyack Famous Street Fair: This family-friendly event runs 10 a.m.-5 p.m with 250 exhibitors featuring arts, crafts, new retail, home deco and gifts. All types of festival foods will be available as well as Nyack’s many outdoor cafes and restaurants. All day music will be played at the gazebo on Main Street and folk music on Broadway. The fair is sponsored by ACADA of Nyack for over 50 years. Free admission, held rain or shine. No pets. "Breath and Imagination": Before Paul Robeson and Marian Anderson, there was trailblazing African-American vocalist Roland Hayes. Born the son of a slave, Roland turned adversity into opportunity, and, at his peak in the 1920s, was the highest paid singer in the world. This inspirational musical play at the Penguin Rep in Rockland soars with spirituals and operatic arias as it traces Hayes’ journey from a plantation in Georgia to performing for royalty in Europe. Yorktown Summer Concert Series: Hear the Showtime Dance Band. The concerts take place at the Jack Devito Veterans' Memorial Gazebo and Field on Veterans Road. Each concert will take place on a Sunday beginning at 6 p.m. with one intermission Bring chairs, food and no-alcoholic beverages. Food will be available for purchase.
