Weekend Pennsylvania State Police high speed chase ended with I-81 crash

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– A car that was spotted overturned along a busy Interstate-81 in Cumberland County over the weekend was involved in a chase with State Police.

According to State Police in Carlisle, the 31-year-old male driver of the 2021 Toyota Tacoma crashed, causing a closure of the I-81N on-ramp to PA 465 after leading Troopers on a chase Sunday.

The driver led State Police on a high-speed chase after he hit an occupied vehicle, according to Troopers. During the chase, he took the ramp and ended up hitting a guard rail before crashing into a drainage field.

The man was rushed to the local hospital for treatment of his injuries, according to State Police who noted that the extent of them are unknown.

The driver was charged according to State Police, however as of Tuesday there is no record of charges.
