Priscilla Beach Theatre continues its season with the musical "She Loves Me," a romantic comedy based on the short story that inspired the hit movie "You've Got Mail" with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.

The remaining shows are at 7:30 p.m. June 2-4.

Adapted from Miklos Laszlo’s Hungarian light comedy “Parfumerie,” the show centers on a pair of contentious colleagues, George and Amalia, who work in a Budapest perfume shop of the 1930s. On the job, the not-so-dynamic duo bickers and butts heads. Off the clock, both seek solace in the "lonely hearts" section of the newspapers. Each strikes up a correspondence with an anonymous admirer. Neither knows the identity of their "Dear Friend."  The play was also the inspiration for the 1940 film “The Shop Around the Corner” with Jimmy Stewart and Margaret Sullavan.

The award-winning musical was written by Joe Masteroff, who also wrote the book for "Cabaret," with music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, who also wrote the score for “Fiddler on the Roof.”

Priscilla Beach Theatre is  one of the oldest barn theaters in the country.

Tickets cost $35 for adults and $32 for seniors 65 and older. The theater is at 800 Rocky Hill Road in Manomet. The box office can be reached at 508-224-4888 or online at pbtheatre.org.

‘Top Gun: Maverick’ takes flight

"Top Gun: Maverick" took flight at the box office last weekend, setting a new record with its $156 million haul.

In the sequel to the 1986 blockbuster, Tom Cruise reprises his most iconic role as elite fighter pilot Pete "Maverick" Mitchell. When Maverick is called back to his old stomping grounds for a special mission, he clashes with his late wingman's son, Rooster (Miles Teller). Told with nostalgia, emotion and high-flying actions, the movie also earned a 97% “fresh score” on the film review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

“Maverick” is showing across the South Shore at the Cameo in Weymouth, Patriot Cinema at the Hingham Shipyard, AMC Braintree, Showcase Cinema in Randolph and Regal Independence Mall in Kingston.
