Oct. 28—A home show to propel your fall fix-ups, two campfire concerts and a Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration are among upcoming events in the Chattanooga area.

Be aware that a Thursday program included in Sunday's event calendar, Generosity in Action, meant to look for ways to meet the needs of the city through Christian generosity, has been postponed until 2022.

— Halloween History Happy Hour, featuring cocktails at 6 p.m. and ghoulish tales with the Cleveland Storytelling Guild at 6:30 p.m., is Thursday at the Museum Center at Five Points, 200 E. The $150 bags contain an assortment of trail provisions, clothing and gear. — Book signings: Local author (and WRCB news anchor) David Carroll will sign copies of his new book in three locations Saturday: 10-11 a.m. at First Jackson Bank, 50550 State Route 277 in Bridgeport, Alabama; 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Lodge Factory Store, 220 E. — "100 Miles to Redemption," a documentary about U.S. Army veteran Shawn Livingston's struggles with PTSD and recovery from substance abuse, will be screened virtually at 7 p.m. Friday. The one-hour film will be followed by a Q&A with Livingston, whose addiction recovery included running 100 miles of the Pinhoti Trail, portions of which are near Chattanooga. — Chattanooga Jewish Film Series continues next week with "Thou Shalt Not Hate," about a surgeon, the son of a Holocaust survivor, who begins to doubt his actions after refusing to help the victim of a traffic accident. — Soccer champs: A tournament by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association to determine the best girls high school soccer teams in the state is underway in Chattanooga. Among the contenders are Baylor School, Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences, East Hamilton, Franklin County, Girls Preparatory School, McMinn County and Signal Mountain Middle/High School.
