— National Day of Caves & Karst will be celebrated 8 a.m.-8 p.m. at Ruby Falls, 1720 S. Scenic Highway. Karsts are limestone land formations that include caverns, sinkholes and underground streams. Guests will be able to visit a Southeastern Cave Conservancy display and receive a free cave and karst guide and car litter bag. — Movie premiere: Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center, 400 Garden Road, will host the film premiere of "Bigger Than Me" at 7:30 p.m. June 10. This 13-minute documentary, directed by Chattanooga filmmaker Pablo Mazariegos, tells the story of Clark Brewer, an African American musician from Chattanooga who is working to banish the idea that outdoor recreation is "white people stuff," as he was once told. African Americans are the most underrepresented segment of the population taking part in outdoor recreation, and Brewer is devoting time to change that. The night will feature a screening of the film, panel discussion, music by Klark Kint and hors d'oeuvres. Tickets are $30. Reserve at reflectionriding.org.
— Chattanooga Festival of Black Arts & Ideas has two events scheduled this coming week: opening night cocktails at Proof Bar, 422 E. M.L. King Blvd., at 6 p.m. June 10 and the second installment of the Oscar Micheaux Black Film Festival at 8:30 p.m. June 11 at Community Haven, 815 N. Hickory St. Opening night also will showcase the work of artist Joseph Forson, which will be displayed at Proof for the next six months, as well as featured in the windows of the EPB building, 10 W. — The Peach Truck, which delivers 25-pound boxes of fresh peaches from a Georgia farm to 33 states, will make its pilgrimage through the Chattanooga area on June 11. Stops are scheduled 8:30-10 a.m. at the Fort Oglethorpe Tractor Supply, 1785 Battlefield Parkway; noon-1:30 p.m. at Hamilton Place mall, 2100 Hamilton Place Blvd.; and 3:30-5 p.m. at Vinterest Antiques, 2105 Northpoint Blvd. in Hixson. — The Yard: Owners of this new music venue and beer garden at 169 Cherry St. in Dunlap, Tennessee, will celebrate their grand opening next weekend. — Free Fishing Day falls on June 12 this year in Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. Anyone may fish without a license in public waters. If you're looking for an organized event for kids, the Scenic Chattanooga Optimist Club will host a Fishing Rodeo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the pond at Camp Jordan, 323 Camp Jordan Parkway (registration starts at 8 a.m.). There are six age categories for youths up to age 17, with trophies awarded for biggest fish, smallest fish and most overall weight. You can bring your own equipment or use club members'.
