To do Sunday

Among the holiday happenings to consider:

— The Tractor Swing in Collegedale, which includes a tractor decorating contest, bluegrass music and Santa posing for photos inside a snow globe.

— The Soddy-Daisy Christmas parade, with floats, marching bands, dancers, decorated vehicles and an appearance by Santa Claus.

— The Moravian Love Feast, a service of song, symbol and candlelight that First Christian Church Chattanooga considers its "Christmas gift to the community."

— A show and sale of wood turnings by Chattanooga artist Ed Lewis, a former chemistry teacher and diving coach who — get this — once confirmed to the Times Free Press that he's never been in a pool.

— The Rising Fawn Studio Tour, whose participating artists specialize in pottery, textile art, hand-painted silks and hand-carved Christmas ornaments.

Quick look at the week

Singers and songwriters Brent Cobb and Amy Ray (of the Indigo Girls) will host a Georgia on My Mind virtual concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday. The show, featuring Americana, roots and blues artists, is usually held at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, where Georgia natives Rhett Akins, Dallas Davidson and Ben Hayslip, aka The Peach Pickers, founded the concert in 2014. After six years, they turned hosting duties over to fellow Georgians Cobb and Ray in 2020, but the spread of COVID-19 meant it would have to be an online effort. This year's concert will stream highlights from a spring concert featuring performances by Cobb, Ray, Kevn Kinney of Drivin N Cryin, Jontavious Willis, Kalen & Aslyn, Trina Meade and Tomi Martin of Three5Human, and the Lola Gulley Band. Tickets are $10. Purchasers will receive a link and access code that will activate at showtime. Proceeds benefit the Georgia Music Foundation. Purchase tickets at georgiamusicfoundation.org.
