Volleyball: Watertown goes 4-1, wins consolation title in tourney

Here is the schedule of area high school volleyball matches this week:

MARSHALL, Minn. — Watertown High School's volleyball team went 4-1 and took home the consolation title Friday and Saturday in the Marshall Jimmy John's Tournament.

The Arrows, now 12-8, defeated Redwood Valley 2-1 (25-11, 24-26 and 15-10) and Central Minnesota Christian 2-0 (25-20, 26-24) on Friday. On Saturday, the Arrows lost to St. Peter, Minn. 2-1 (25-13, 22-25, 15-9) and downed Medford, Minn. 2-0 (25-17, 25-8) and Windom Area 2-0 (25-14, 25-14).

Watertown hosts Sioux Falls Lincoln at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the Civic Arena.

Ally Abraham tallied 22 kills and three aces, Marissa Bawdon three aces, Kami Wadsworth 38 assists, Addie Neuendorf seven kills and 14 digs, Gracelyn Leiseth seven kills and three blocks and Ava Prouty 17 digs for Hamlin.

Elkton-Lake Benton 3, Deubrook Area 0: Rachael Krog's 13 kills and 19 digs and Kylie Ramlo's 11 kills and 11 digs powered Elkton-Lake Benton (19-2, 6-0) to a 25-11, 25-21 and 25-16 win. Tevan Erickson chipped in with 34 assists, four aces and 18 digs and Kailyn Drietz six kills and seven digs.

Katie Rozell (2 aces, 13 digs, two solo blocks and one block assist), Camryn Rohlfs (two aces and 39 assists), Gracie Fast (14 kills) and Chloe Zens (14 digs) paced Redfield.

Estelline-Hendricks 3, Dell Rapids St. Mary 1: The Redhawks (16-5, 4-2) took the Dakota Valley Conference match 25-20, 18-25, 25-7 and 25-15 over St. Mary (8-8, 2-4).

Brianna Lindeman recorded 28 assists, Josie Baumberger 21 digs, Maya Heinitz 10 kills and 12 digs and Ella Griffin 13 kills for St. Mary.

Tiospa Zina 3, Deuel 1: The Wambdi won the Northeast Conference match 25-17, 25-17, 18-25 and 25-17. Deuel fell to 5-13 and 2-5.

Aberdeen Christian 3, Wilmot 2: The Knights (3-17) outlasted the Wolves (5-14) 26-24, 22-25, 26-24, 22-25 and 15-13.

Kayla Hamann tallied nine kills and four aces, Paige Johnson three kills, Adrienne High Eagle three kills and three aces and Ashlyn Ebben three kills and four aces for Wilmot.

Northwestern 3, Faulkton Area 0: Fourth-rated Class B Northwestern upped its record to 16-8 by winning 25-15, 25-12 and 25-15. Ella Haven led the way with 17 kills, three aces, nine digs and one solo and one block assist. Payton Grandpre added three aces and 11 digs, Brooklinn Halverson five kills and 28 assists and Ashley Haven two aces, nine kills and eight digs.

Aedyn Raethz tallied three aces and 11 dogs, Carley Cotton five kills and 12 digs, Addison Melius 10 kills and Gabby Kast 17 assists for Faulkton Area (13-8).

Aberdeen Roncalli 3, Britton-Hecla 0: Roncalli (9-6, 6-2) swept the Northeast Conference match 25-21, 25-13 and 25-12 over Britton-Hecla (5-11, 1-6).

Oldham-Ramona-Rutland 3, De Smet 2: ORR (11-7 and 2-3) rallied to win the Dakota Valley Conference match 15-25, 25-19, 23-25, 25-15 and 15-6. The Bulldogs slipped to 9-10 and 1-5.

Leaders for ORR included Aliva Bickett with three aces, 11 spikes and 24 digs; Bailey Hyland three aces and 14 digs; Paige Hanson, three blocks and 23 sets; Julia Trystad, 29 spikes and Brooklyn Hageman 25 sets.

Jada Burke recorded three aces, 12 kills and 13 digs for De Smet. Jacie McCune contributed six aces and 13 digs, Emma Albrecht 10 assists, Megan Dylla six assists, Hazel Luethmers seven kills and five blocks, Cori Birkel 10 blocks and Ella Poppinga 10 digs.

Iroquois-Lake Preston 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0: The Sharks (7-12) won 25-19, 25-8 and 25-10 over the Crusaders (2-17). Leading the way were Becca Bich with eight aces and 10 assists, Adison Moore five aces and eight digs; Trinity Pirlet, nine assists; Ava Malone, seven kills; and Anna Decker, six kills.

Betra Amare and Sadie Konechne each made three digs for SBA. Annalise VanZee addedd two kills and two blocks and Amare two assists.

Sioux Falls Roosevelt 3, Watertown 0: Sioux Falls Roosevelt notched a 25-15, 25-13 and 25-16 win, improving to 10-8 on the season.

Grace Corey went 10-10 serving with an ace, 10 assists and eight digs for the Arrows. Emery Thury went 8-8 serving. Carter Jurrens added five kills and Kendall Paulson and Eve Hauger each four. Miranda Falconer finished with eight assists and seven digs and Maddy Rohde eight digs.

Watertown is slated to play in a tournament at Marshall (Minn.) on Saturday.

Castlewood 3, Florence-Henry 0: Mackenzie Everson smacked 13 kills, Maddie Horn and Presley Knecht each 10 and Emerson Carter six to lead the Warriors (12-6) to a 25-18, 25-18 and 25-20 win.

Knecht added two aces and 11 digs, Horn 17 digs and Everson 14 digs. Gracie Haug made 31 assists and nine digs, Cassidy Kirwan three assists and Lyndsey Archer nine digs.

The Falcons (16-5) were led by Taylor Watson with 16 good serves and 19 digs, Caylin Kelly nine good serves and 17 kills, Reese Schmidt 21 assists and 10 digs and Trinity Watson four kills.

Hamlin 3, Sioux Valley 0: The Chargers improved to 16-3 overall and 3-0 in the Lake Central Conference by winning 23-25-23, 25-20 and 25-19.

Hamlin leaders included Ally Abraham, three aces and 17 kills; Kami Wadsworth, 40 assists; Gracelyn Leiseth, 11 kills; Ava Prouty, 17 digs; and Marissa Bawdon, 13 digs.

Webster Area 3, Tiospa Zina 0: The Bearcats (12-8, 5-3) took the Northeast Conference match 25-19, 25-17 and 25-17.

Emma Hamann finished with four kills and eight digs, Harley Hennings five kills, Emma Sattler three kills and Josie Andersen seven assists and six digs for Deuel (5-12).

The Panthers (6-13) received six kills from Esta Cameron and three each from Abby Kjenstad and Olivia Holmen. Grace Powers and Kyrie Roberts each made 12 digs and Myra Lentz 10.

Wilmot 3, Langford Area 0: The Wolves improved to 5-13 with a 25-11, 26-24, 16-26 and 25-16 non-conference win over Langford Area (8-12).

Stacia Redday tallied six aces and 16 assists, Ashlyn Ebben six blocks and Kayla Hamman eight kills for Wilmot.

Bryanna Peterson led Langford area with six kills and 15 digs. Avery West added 19 digs and Eliana Darling 15.

Dell Rapids St. Mary 3, Castlewood 1: St. Mary (8-7, 2-3) won the Dakota Valley Conference match 25-21, 25-16, 20-25 and 25-22. Castlewood fell to 11-6 and 2-4.
