LAKE PRESTON — Arlington (9-7 overall) capped a 3-0 day with a 25-24, 26-24 victory over Sioux Valley in the championship match of the 42nd Lake Preston Invitational volleyball tournament on Saturday.

Flandreau downed Iroquois-Lake Preston 22-25, 25-18 and 25-17 for third place; De Smet won the consolation championship 25-22, 17-25, 25-20 over Estelline-Hendricks and Waubay-Summit took seventh place with a 25-14, 25-18 win over Waverly-South Shore.

Hamlin Invitational: Complete scores were not available from the tourney. Host Hamlin improved to 10-0 with 2-0 wins over James Valley Christian (25-19, 25-14) and Sisseton (25-8, 25-10) and 2-1 wins over Florence-Henry (28-30, 25-18 and 25-13) and Castlewood (25-20, 24-26, 25-23).

Hamlin leaders included Kami Wadsworth 120 assists, Marissa Bawdon 10 aces, Ally Abraham 52 kills, Gracelyn Leiseth six blocks and Addie Neuendorf and Ava Prouty with more than 52 digs apiece.

Ipswich Subway Invite: Milbank went 3-1 and finished second in the Ipswich Subway Invite on Saturday. The Bulldogs (7-3) posted 2-0 wins over Herreid-Selby Area (25-16, 25-22), Leola-Frederick (25-18, 25-18) and Aberdeen Christian (25-10, 25-10) before falling to Kimball-White Lake 2-0 (25-23, 25-21) in the championship.

Tourney leaders for Milbank included Averie Engebretson with 41 assists, 10 kills and 14 digs; Addisyn Krause nine aces, 35 assists and 27 digs; Rachel Schulte seven aces, 34 kills and 25 digs; Skyler Skoog 17 kills; Casside Seezs 18 kills; and Hallie Schulte 27 digs.

Clark-Willow Lake 3, Wilmot 1: Clark-Willow Lake notched a 3-1 (21-25, 25-17, 31-29 and 25-11) non-conference win over Wilmot. The Cyclones improved to 4-8. The Wolves fell to 3-10.

Garretson 3, Elkton-Lake Benton 1: Kaylin Koch's 19 kills and 13 digs and Logan Bly's 17 and 15 sparked Garretson (8-4) to the 25-19, 22-25, 25-20 and 25-23 win. Sydney Olson added 27 assists and 12 digs, Aleah Wagner 11 kills and 15 digs, Grace Hove 30 assists and 16 digs and Anna Jones nine kills.

The Arrows (7-5 overall) won 25-17, 17-25, 28-26, 22-25 and 15-9.

Kendall Paulson went 16-17 serving and added 10 kills and 17 digs. Grace Corey converted 23 of 25 serves with three aces, 29 assists and 17 digs. Carter Jurrens contributed eight kills, Maddy Rohde 16 digs and Emery Thury four kills, one solo block and one block assists.

Mya Hejl led the Lynx (2-7) with 15 kills. Jayaunna Stroh followed with eight, Kennedy Keiper six and Josey Wickersham five.
