With the game tied at 20-20 at halftime, senior Yesenia Baylon scored all 10 of her points in the second half with six points in the third to give the Bulldawgs a 34-24 lead entering the fourth quarter.

But Baylon hit another mid-range jumper and Beth Quinones hit a triple with 2:43 left to push the lead back to 10 points.
"Our defense definitely sparks our offense so if we are off defensively, it's hard to start our offense," Christiano said. "It's all about matchups in this district. You can be playing man one night and 1-3-1 the next night. Tonight we ran everything."

Organ Mountain ends Las Cruces High's 28-game district win streak
Organ Mountain boys basketball coach Rocky Gonzales had never beaten Las Cruces High at three different schools before Monday night.
The Knights improved to 15-3 and snapped Las Cruces High's 28-game district win streak with a 39-36 victory on Monday at Organ Mountain High School.
"On a personal level, it's a big weight off my shoulders," said Gonzales, who had faced Las Cruces High as the head coach at Mayfield and Gadsden. "Hopefully it shows a little bit of how hard we have been working over here."

Since the 2017-18 season, Las Cruces was 61-1 in district play regular season games entering Monday with the lone loss in 2019-20 to Organ Mountain.
Monday was Las Cruces High's first district loss this season as the Bulldawgs dropped to 2-1 in district play.
"As a team, I think we are confident now that we could get them, but in the lockerroom, we are talking about why are we giving up shots down the stretch when we know how potent they are behind the arc," Gonzales said.
Organ Mountain took a 34-23 lead into the fourth quarter, but the Knights took the air out of the ball and the Bulldawgs outscored Organ Mountain 13-5 in the fourth quarter.
Organ Mountain didn't score until Brandon Kehres hit two free throws with 1:42 to play after a 3Elliot Cisneros 3-pointer made it 34-29.
Organ Mountain was 5 for 8 from the foul line in the fourth.
"I didn't like how we finished," Gonzales said. "I was trying to see if they were going to pressure us so I wanted to go spread and we tried one on one to attack the basket, but weren't able to finish and turned it over a couple times. Little things that normally I have seen us convert on that in the fourth quarter."
Aiden Pacini led the Kngiths with 14 points with three made 3s as the Knights connected seven times from long range.
Caleb Carr led the Bulldawgs with 11 points, David Cruz sscored eight points and Cisneros had six points.
"We have some goals as far as getting into the playoffs and they (Las Cruces) are in the way one of our goals of trying to get a home game," Gonzales said. "For us, it kind of solidifies what we think we can do."

Las Cruces led from wire to wire, but held just a 17-11 lead after a low scoring first half that ended when Mayfield's Lyric Corona (14 points) hit a 3-pointer as the second quarter expired.
Mayfield's Lorrena Viarreal made it a two point game early in the third, but the Bulldawgs pulled away, outscoring the Trojans 31-15 in the second half to win the District 3-5A opener against rival Mayfield at LCHS.
"Once we settled in and the kids bought into what we are trying to do, they were attacking a little differently and made the extra pass and we scored some points off turnovers, which we kind of thrive on," said Las Cruces coach Lori Selby, whose team is 11-4. "It was low scoring and we couldn't buy a bucket. I think the difference was we were able to make some adjustments at halftime and our kids came out and just executed."
Mayfield dropped to 8-8 on the season.
Las Cruces guard Emma Christiano hit back to back jumpers in the fourth to push the lead to 28-15 as she finished with a game-high 20 points with 14 points in the second half.
