With New Year’s Eve fast approaching, you’ll want to get your reservations made if you plan to participate in any of the parties and events happening in the Wichita area.
Among the options: You could partake in a pickleball party or party with Prince (well, a Purple One impersonator) or find another themed party to ring in 2024. Or check out your favorite bar to see if a band is playing.
Families don’t need to miss out on the fun, as there are some kid-oriented events happening too.
Here’s a list of several options to ring in the new year.
For adults
Mosley Street Melodrama, 234 N. Mosley, is celebrating its 2023 season during a special New Year’s Eve dinner and show event. Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner starting at 6:15 p.m. and the show beginning at 8 p.m. The performance ends at 10 p.m.; the theater will not be open until midnight. Prairie Rose Opera House, 15231 SW Parallel St., Benton, is offering a dinner and a dance package featuring music by 3 Trails West for $50 a person. Here’s looking at you, kids. The Augusta Historic Theatre, 523 State St., Augusta, is hosting A Black and White NYE: Casablanca party, featuring the iconic 1942 movie “Casablanca” starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. Dress is black and white attire; the event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. The $25 admission includes two slices of Oak & Pie pizza, two adult drink tickets and the movie screening. Additional drinks and concessions, along with raffle tickets for a 2024 season pass to the theater’s general admission movies, can be purchased. Dress up in 1920s attire and place your bets at Shooters’ New Year’s Eve casino party, a Gatsby-themed formal dress event. Shooters, a billiard hall and restaurant, is located at 2726 S. Hydraulic. Partygoers have the option of including a steak or chicken dinner, which is served from 6 to 10 p.m. Dinner packages are $25 per person and include a midnight champagne toast, a game card to get chips at gaming tables and a donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. You can glow during the Ultraviolet Glow Night at Flow Foundry ICT, 301 S. Meridian. Art displays, breath work and sound healing sessions, UV face and body paintings, and music are part of the activities at this 6 p.m.-2 a.m. event. The band Chronic Audio will perform at Mordecai’s Tavern & Eatery, 330 S. Greenwich, which is having a New Year’s Eve bash from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Cost is $15 per person, $25 for a couple and includes one drink ticket, party favors and midnight champagne toast; RSVP by Dec. 30. Eberly Farm, 13111 W. 21st St. N., is again hosting A Night of Elegance on the Farm from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. A ticket of $135 for two people includes six total drinks of beer and wine, a charcuterie spread and party favors. Wichita’s new jazz club, Walker’s Jazz Lounge at 252 N. Mosley, is showcasing the Celebrity Jazz Band during its event from 8 p.m. to midnight. End 2023 by going back in time with 1980s rock music by Paramount at The Cotillion, 11120 W. Kellogg. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m. Special guest is the Monterey Jack band. General admission is $20 in advance, $25 the day of the event. There are a limited number of tables available that can be reserved. A little Sunday night fever is happening at Wave, 650 E. Second St., where DJ E will be providing music for the venue’s New Year’s Eve disco Party. Purple Madness, a Prince tribute band, is the headliner of the New Year’s Eve celebration presented by Kismet Koncerts at the Crown Uptown Theatre, 3207 E. Douglas, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Besides music by the tribute band, which features front guy Bobby Miller, the event includes a live DJ, a light show, gourmet bites and a midnight champagne toast. There will be a silent auction benefiting the Kansas Humane Society and the Boys and Girls Club of South Central Kansas. Doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $50 to $70 and are available through Ticketmaster, A limited, $75 four-course pre-event dinner, with seating times starting at 5:30 p.m., can be booked at The Belmont. Bucky Fowler and Southern Charm will perform at 9 p.m. at the Wichita Union Stockyards, 6251 W. McArthur Road. There’s plenty of room for dancing at the Union Stockyards, which has a 3,000-square-foot dance floor. Tickets are $30 and include breakfast; purchase tickets by calling 316-945-1079.

With New Year’s Eve landing on a Sunday, take advantage of Chicken N Pickle’s weekly Sunday brunch and bingo, which is free to play. The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Chicken N Pickle, 1240 N. Greenwich Road. Party with a prehistoric theme at Field Station: Dinosaurs, 2999 N. Rock Road, Derby. Its event, A Family New Year’s Eve, runs from 1 to 9 p.m. Organizers will be roaring in the new year every hour with a different featured dinosaur.
