Welcome to Rockville 2023: What to know about parking at Daytona Beach music festival

With 40,000 fans expected daily at this year’s Welcome to Rockville, a plan for parking is at least as important as a strategy for catching must-see bands at the four-day heavy-metal fest that opens Thursday at Daytona International Speedway.

Here’s what you need to know, according to the festival’s website.

Day of show parking passes to be available

Alas, the deadline for buying advance parking passes at the event has passed. A check of the festival’s website on Monday also showed that allocated advance parking and ADA parking passes were sold out.

Not to worry.

Additional parking is available for daily sales on festival days for a $40 daily fee, payable by cash or card.

Where do you buy day of show parking? What about ADA parking?

Day of show sales at the Speedway will be in Lot 1 and Lot 4, off International Speedway Boulevard.

ADA parking will be in Lot 1, with fans parking in Lot 1 to enter the festival at the Turn 1 entrance. Fans parking in Lot 4 will enter through the Turn 4 tunnel and be directed inside the track to the festival’s Camping Entrance.

What about rideshare drop-off?

Rideshare Drop-off and Pick-Up also will be in Lot 1, off International Speedway Boulevard. Just follow signage and the direction of police and event staff.

This drop-off/pick-up zone is for Uber, Lyft, taxis, hotel shuttles and all other drop-offs. Fans dropping off will enter the festival through the Turn 1 entrance.

What if I'm entering on foot?

If you’re hoofing it to the festival gates, say, from the parking lots at One Daytona across from the Speedway on ISB, here’s how to do it:

From ISB, access the Speedway at Lot 1 (via the Turn 1 Entrance) or Lot 4 (via the Turn 4 Tunnel).

From Midway Avenue, access the venue at Richard Petty Boulevard and head to the Turn 4 Tunnel.

What about bicycle parking?

There will be self-service bicycle parking at Welcome to Rockville. Be prepared to provide your own bike lock and park at your own risk. Bicycle parking will be in LOT 1 for festival entry through the Turn 1 entrance.

Is there overnight parking?

Due to security risks, overnight parking outside of the festival’s campgrounds on the Speedway infield is not permitted. All vehicles must exit the parking lots after the show. They will be towed if left overnight.

Is ISB near the Speedway going to be a traffic nightmare?

Certainly, expect plenty of vehicles daily, especially as folks arrive and depart from the festival.

At the same time, the Speedway routinely handles much larger daily crowds for its famed NASCAR races.

Also, Daytona Beach Police Department isn’t planning to issue any traffic advisories for residents ahead of the event, said Carrie McCallister, police spokeswoman.
