Wellersburg still devastated by flooded streets, homes from Thursday night's storm

Heavy rainwater closed a portion of Route 160 Thursday evening in Wellersburg Borough. Wellersburg District Volunteer Fire Department Chief Zach Sloane said that the road was closed from Witt Hill to Firehouse Road for about an hour. Sloane said the first call of the storm came in at 5:13 p.m. for a tree down.

More calls progressed from there, Sloane said. "Most of it was just some roadway flooding from overpowered culverts and storm drains," he said. "No injuries, just lots of debris on the roadway." The fire department responded to the scene until the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation arrived.
