Wellness center offering free health screenings

The Pivot Treatment and Wellness Center wants to provide underserved individuals in Palm Beach County with a day of wellness and empowerment.

On Sunday, Aug. 16, Pivot Center co-founders Tanya Young Williams and Dr. Jacob Elefant will be hosting the Community Wellness and Empowerment Day at 801 SE Sixth Ave. in Delray Beach. The free, two-session health and wellness event will include screenings for mental health, blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, STDs and COVID-19.

With registration required, individuals can attend either session one from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or session two from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Each session is limited to 50 people.

Along with the medical screenings, individuals will receive free substance abuse and recovery resources as well as presentations from guest speakers.

Guests will be required to wear face coverings and have their temperature taken at the entrance to the outdoor event.
