Wendy Williams’ Son Concerned for Her Health

Kevin Hunter Jr. is concerned about his mother’s well-being. The son to ex-TV host Wendy Williams shared his thoughts on his mother’s health Monday in an interview with The Sun. Hunter says Williams’ team is committed to profiting off her despite her condition.

A Son’s Fear

Hunter believes that his mother’s mental and physical health began to deteriorate after she was placed under guardianship last year. He also shared that her medical concerns are being overlooked by her team, who are only focused on making money off her.

“What’s been made more important by the people around her is that while her health may not be great, she needs to keep on earning income, and in my opinion that should not be a priority at all. And whoever has been hired – they are taking advantage of someone who needs to get better,” Hunter told The Sun.

Hunter shared how he is mostly concerned for her personal well-being.

“As hard as it is seeing her being taken advantage of, I know that if I’m making sure she, as a person, is okay, that is the important thing,” the 22-year-old said.

A Tumultuous Situation

Since last year, Wendy Williams has been in and out of hospitals. She exited her talk show “The Wendy Williams Show” in 2022, due to health issues. After departing, she was replaced with a new host. The show was eventually cancelled. In an interview with Good Morning America, Williams expressed interest in returning to work at some point.

“Give me about three months. There are private things that I have to deal with, and then I’ll be ready to come back and be free and ready to do my thing,” she told the show.

So far, the 57-year-old hasn’t made a return.

No Communication

In his interview with The Sun, Hunter shared that he wasn’t kept abreast of his mother’s health progress or whereabouts. He was only informed by Williams’ manager when she was hospitalized last year. He was, however, not notified when or if she was released from the hospital. While talking about his mother’s issues with alcohol, he said, “There are a lot of people who are very aware that there is an issue with her drinking, and how that issue may be helped, but I think these people are taking advantage of it while allowing it to play out to make it look like they aren’t causing the issue.”
