Wendy Williams seen exiting Miami wellness center, says she’s ‘doing fabulous’
Wendy Williams has been spotted out and about.
Despite unsubstantiated reports that the ailing talk show host was using a wheelchair and showing signs of dementia, she appears to be doing well.
Amid an indefinite hiatus to seek treatment for her ongoing health issues, Williams was caught on video barefoot and wearing a bold red ornate robe as she exited a Miami wellness facility and makes her way to an SUV flanked with a team of unidentified people.
The 57-year-old daytime diva isn’t commenting about the status of her Emmy Award-nominated talk show but did say “thank you” when the paparazzi says “everyone does hope you feel better” in the clip first published by the urban gossip blog The Shade Room on Wednesday. Her son, Kevin, is seen helping his mother in and out of a black SUV.
“Wendy is doing fabulous” is how Williams responded in third person when asked about her recovery, urging her fans to look forward to “lots more Wendy stuff.”
For months, the Radio Hall of Famer has been absent from her nationally syndicated daily show during its 13th season; her return was reportedly delayed due to ongoing health issues, which included allegedly testing positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19.
Williams previously addressed her absence on Nov. 8 via the show’s Instagram account.
“HOW YOU DOIN’? I MISS YOU ALL! As everyone knows, my health has been a hot topic,” the statement reads. “I’m making progress but it’s just one of those things that’s taking longer than we expected.”
It continued: “I’m a woman of a certain age, and I know enough to listen to my doctors and will return to my purple chair as soon as we all agree I’m ready. I want to thank all of my staff and our guest hosts for stepping up and stepping in while I can’t be there.”
Since the season started, numerous guest hosts have filled in for the former “functioning cocaine addict,” including Emmy Award winners Sherri Shepherd, Leah Remini and Jerry Springer, comedians Billy Bellamy and Whitney Cummings and rappers Fat Joe and Remy Ma.
