Wendy's tweets joke about Brennaman's 'drive into deep left field by Castellanos' apology

When former Cincinnati Reds broadcaster Thom Brennaman issued an apology for using a homophobic slur on the air, who would have thought the official Twitter account of one of the largest fast-food restaurant chains would joke about it nearly two years later?

ESPN's Jeff Passan urged in a tweet Wednesday that any Major League Baseball trade-deadline news he has would come directly from his verified account. He followed it with a tweet - and popular meme - that read, "Sir, this is a Wendy's."

The reply from @wendys:

Last October, Passan tweeted that former Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker got "Castellanos'd" when he was in the middle of an on-air, in-game interview with FOX while managing the Houston Astros against the Boston Red Sox in the American League Championship Series when Boston's Enrique Hernández homered in the third inning.

Baker's priceless "Ohhh, lord!" reaction to the homer reminded many of Brennaman's now-famous apology.

Last September, the Pittsburgh Pirates' official Twitter account tweeted a reference to Brennaman's apology when the Pirates took a 4-0 lead against the Reds.
