We're Having Quarantine Envy Looking at Kelly Clarkson's Gorgeous Ranch in Montana

If you have to ride out the coronavirus pandemic somewhere, the cabin at Kelly Clarkson’s Montana ranch feels like as good a place as any. In fact, the multi-hyphenate star’s new video tour of the “super-cute, cozy” space has us wishing we had our own rustic lodging out west to hole up in. In the absence of that, though, we’ll settle for virtually visiting Clarkson’s home away from home.

Adhering to social distancing and quarantine guidelines, Clarkson took her family to Montana to wait out the current global health crisis at her Vintage Valley ranch. And while she’s definitely connecting with nature while she’s out there, she isn’t exactly totally unplugged — she’s been broadcasting The Kelly Clarkson Show as she shelters in place. So, it’s only natural she would give fans a glimpse of her makeshift studio and where she’ll be laying her head until further notice.

Clarkson shares the Montana cabin (and ranch it sits on) with husband Brandon Blackstock. Their two children together, 5-year-old daughter River Rose and 3-year-old son Remington, are with them, as well as Blackstock’s 13-year-old son Seth from his previous marriage. As Clarkson explains in her video tour, Blackstock’s 18-year-old daughter Savannah isn’t with them in Montana at the moment. But as for the rest of their crew, they’re making the most of their Montana quarantine.

Let’s take a look at their digs.

First Impression

Before Clarkson even enters the “efficiency cabin,” she points out the holiday wreath still hanging on the door. “Hey thanks, Gwen Stefani for sending us this for Christmas. It’s still lasting out here in the wilderness,” she said with a laugh, adding, “She sends us these beautiful wreaths.”

Sleeping Quarters

The “super-cute and cozy” cabin may be small, but everyone has a place to snooze! Pointing toward the right corner of the room, Clarkson revealed, “There’s where Remy and River sleep, on little bunks.” She then pointed the camera to the center and left of the room, saying, “There’s where me and Brandon sleep. And there’s where Seth, our 13-year-old sleeps. It can also be another bunk, but our 18-year-old usually isn’t with us.”

Country Kitchenette

In the cabin’s tiny kitchenette area, Clarkson’s roots shine through — there, on the wall, is a black-and-white portrait of country and bluegrass icon Dolly Parton. “Of course we have Dolly in the cabin,” Clarkson said.

On the other side of the kitchenette, a freestanding wood-burning stove/fireplace really amps up the cabin’s rustic warmth (literally and figuratively).

Downtime Entertainment

So, what’s a family to do when everything in the country is basically shut down? Spend quality time together, obviously. And for Clarkson, that includes having “games and puzzles, ’cause my kids love puzzles.”

The Great Outdoors

It goes without saying that in Montana, where the cabin is located, there are also lots of wide-open spaces to enjoy. In an outdoor glimpse of the ranch Clarkson shared on her show last week, she emphasized, “It’s nice to get into nature. As a society, we don’t do it enough. We’re always working constantly, so it’s nice to just come out here and sit by the stream and hear the water flowing and be around all the trees. I just love the sound of just nature and not cars and not people on top of each other.”
