Move over string lights and funky tapestries, because now that spring is coming, we're pumped to dress our homes with these gorgeous flower wall garlands, which prove that ometimes the simplest pieces can really change the whole atmosphere of the room. As seen blooming on Pinterest, this easy-to-hang decoration creates a stunning backdrop on even the plainest wall. They seem to be popular pieces to hang above baby's crib, as well as for party and event decor.

There are two ways to get yourself a flower wall garland. You can shop the numerous versions already available on sites like Etsy, or you can fashion your own using fresh flowers. Personally, I'd prefer to buy one with artificial blooms rather than string my own and watch it shrivel up over a few weeks. However, DIYing one of these is perfect if you're hosting an event and need a quick and easy statement piece that's more interesting than a bouquet.

Lifestyle blogger The Kitchy Kitchen offers a fabulous tutorial on how to create your own. Basically, you trim your flowers of choice into springy little stems, then double knot each stem onto a piece of twine that measures two to five feet in length. After adding flowers to six or so pieces of twine, tie each piece of twine to a branch. Using one more piece of twine, tied to both ends of the branch, you can make a hanger strap so the piece can easily be hung from a nail in the wall. Sound too complicated? Don’t worry, I've also included some of my fave flower wall garlands to shop below.
