Wes Moore is Maryland's Democratic nominee for governor: NBC projects

Major TV networks on Friday projected a winner in Maryland's 2022 Democratic primary race for governor, but some campaigns say it's too soon to call. NBC News on Friday projected Wes Moore will be the Democratic nominee for governor. CNN and CBS followed suit as the day progressed. The Associated Press said it's too early to call as its count has Moore leading Tom Perez by 31,084 votes, or 6.8 percentage points, out of 457,617 ballots counted as of 1 p.m. Friday. The AP cited mail-in ballots that continue to be counted across Maryland, including in Montgomery County, where Perez leads Moore by 22 percentage points.
