West Central girls basketball team drops pair of road games

The West Central High School girls basketball team dropped a pair of games Wednesday and Thursday, falling to Knoxville, 38-24, on Wednesday, then dropping a 56-45 game Thursday at Mendon Unity.

In the game against Knoxville, Shelby Bowman poured in 27 points, Bailey Ryan and Addie Seitz each scored three points and Sam Meyer scored one point.

In the loss to Unity, Bowman scored 24 points, Seitz scored 14 points, Meyer added three points and Lauren Winters and Ryan each scored two points.

ILLINI WEST 57, RUSHVILLE 19: Rylee Reed and Madison Quesenberry each scored 12 points and Reagan Reed added 11 points in the Chargers' road win at Rushville, Illinois.

Illini West (5-3) hosts Pleasant Hill/Western at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Carthage, Illinois.

BOYS BASKETBALL

ILLINI WEST 66, A-TOWN 44: Nolan Deitrich scored 29 points and Drake Mudd added 12 points in the Chargers' win Wednesday at Abingdon, Illinois.

HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING

QUINCY 40, FORT MADISON 35: A bye at 106 pounds proved to be the difference as the Blue Devils edged the Bloodhounds at Quincy, Illinois.

Winning by pins for Fort Madison were Logan Pennock at 126, Aidan Pennock at 152, Teague Smith at 182, Isaac Thacher at 195 and Daniel Sokolik at 285. Nolan Riddle won by a 17-2 technical fall at 145.
