The West Ottawa Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Banquet returns this year.

After a couple of years off because of the pandemic, West Ottawa will host its induction ceremony and banquet on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Haworth Inn & Conference Center on the campus of Hope College.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:15 p.m. and the ceremony at 7 p.m.

The inductees include state champion wrestler Mike McClure (2009), state champion diver Dani VanderZwaag (2012), West Ottawa's first perfect game pitcher Steven R. Vanderlip (1965) and 25-year coach Larry VanWieren.

Tickets can be purchased at wopanthers.com or at the West Ottawa High School Athletic Office., open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on weekdays. Tickets are $20 and must be purchased by Sept. 30.
