West Pensacola could get its first Chipotle restaurant

Chipotle Mexican Grill is working on bringing another restaurant to Escambia County.

If approved, the project would be built on the corner of Denver Avenue and West Michigan Avenue, according to the project’s site plan filed with Escambia County, and would be the first Chipotle in West Pensacola.

There are two existing Chipotle Mexican Grill locations in Escambia County, one at Cordova Mall and the other at 1674 E. Nine Mile Road.

The newest restaurant is planned to be 2,325 square feet, have an accompanying drive-through lane and 27 parking spaces on a .98-acre parcel that is undeveloped, according to its Project Information Form filed with Escambia County.

Chipotle in Escambia County

This is the first Chipotle project proposed to Escambia County in 2024, but the third since the beginning of 2023.

Projects to develop a Chipotle on West Nine Mile Road and Mobile Highway were filed with Escambia County last year, but neither has received approval from the Development Review Committee at this time.

The developers of the West Pensacola Chipotle filed their plans with Escambia County’s Development Review Committee on March 20. The project will be reviewed on April 3 during the Development Review Committee’s pre-application meetings.

There are 222 Chipotle Mexican Grills across Florida.
