—Leesport Area Historical Society Museum open house, 128 Main St. 1-4 p.m. Visit the 1858 schoolhouse that served the community until 1961. Tour includes a mid-20th century classroom and a museum room including a rare printing press and Quaker marriage certificate from 1757. Current exhibit features local advertising signage.

—Spring lecture presented by the Friends of the Conrad Weiser Homestead, 28 Weiser Drive, Womelsdorf, 2 p.m. Linda Manwiller , local historian, will talk about how America's Easter celebrations, including the Easter bunny, Easter eggs and the Easter basket, have a common source. This illustrated lecture will focus on the Pennsylvania Germans and how they have influenced our celebration of the Easter season. Free, but donations will be accepted.

Hamburg Area Historical Society presents Brian Engelhart with "Shotguns in the Valley," 7 p.m., Hamburg High School LGI room. A history of the construction of the Maidencreek Dam and Lake Ontelaunee between 1925 and 1932; the Reading water supply that created the need and the drama of the 1927 "Shotgun Rebellion" of the local farmers who protested the construction.

April 14

—The Berks County Conservation District is holding a Cover Crop Workshop from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 91 Frystown Road, Bethel Township. This is a free event, rain or shine. It will provide farmers with resources to improve soil health and save on fertilizer. Attendees can observe an aerial-seeded cover crop field and experience a live manure injection demonstration.
