West Salem basketball player Lizzy Bennett is the Statesman Journal Athlete of the Week, having won a poll of readers.

She recently had 20 points, three rebounds and five assists in a win against McKay.

Here is another look at this week’s nominees:

Annabelle Brawley, Salem Academy girls basketball: She had 16 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals in a win at Culver.

Chase Nelson, Central boys basketball: He had 18 points and 12 rebounds in a win against Corvallis.

DJ Ayres, North Salem boys basketball: He had 15 points, six rebounds and two assists in a win against Dallas.
