Feb. 23—The West Side Career and Technology Center Joint Operating Committee voted 8-2 on a settlement agreement with Assistant Director/Principal Richard Rava regarding his administrator's contract.

Details were not disclosed during the virtual meeting. The agreement is subject to review from Solicitor Charles Coslett and subject to acceptance by Rava, Committee President Drew Salko said.

In July, the committee approved a one-year contract extension for Rava, and Rava's attorney, Attorney Edwin Abrahamsen Jr., argued Rava was entitled to a five-year extension. Abrahamsen said Rava was going to appeal the vote to the entire joint committee and the state Department of Education.

The regional vocational high school for the ninth grade to 12th grade is governed by a joint-operating committee with representatives from the Dallas, Northwest Area, Lake-Lehman, Wyoming Valley West and Wyoming Area school boards.

Rava has worked at the school for 10 years. Rava's salary was $97,183 in 2018-19, records show.
