West Village Restaurateur Teams Up With Shake Shack For Burger

WEST VILLAGE, NY — Shake Shack is teaming up with Lower Manhattan restaurateur Gabriel Stulman for a one-day collaboration before taking his famous burger recipe to a West Village eatery.

On Thursday, the Madison Square Park Shake Shack at East 23rd Street and Madison Avenue, will allow customers to get an early taste of the Bar Sardine Burger before it lands on the menu of the West Village Mediterranean restaurant Fairfax.

The popular burger was previously on the Bar Sardine menu, but Stulam had to shutter the gastropub at the end of August. Bar Sardine was one of two West Village restaurants that Stulam had to close down because of losses from the coronavirus pandemic.

The money raised from the Bar Sardine Burger collaboration with Shake Shack will get donated to ROAR, Relief Opportunity for All Restaurants. ROAR is an organization of restaurant owners and long-time workers within the industry with a mission to advocate for small restaurants hurt by the effects of coronavirus.

"I'm fired up to be collaborating with my longtime friend Randy Garutti and the entire Shake Shack family to kick off the grand return of the Bar Sardine Burger," Stulman said in a news release.

The Bar Sardine Burger will cost $10.49, and features a double cheeseburger patty, topped with smoked cheddar cheese, BBQ mayo, red onion, pickles, and crispy shoestring fries on Shake Shack's signature bun.

You can preorder the burger on the Shake Shack app and through order.shakeshack.com.

After Thursday, the burger will take its talents to Fairfax, located at 234 West 4th Street.
