Line: West Virginia -12.5; O/U: 138

Coach: Bob Huggins (14th season)

Player to know: Derek Culver

West Virginia was one of the hottest teams in the country in February, going 6-1 in Big 12 play. To open March, WVU took Baylor (the No. 1 seed in the South region) into overtime, but fell 94-89. WVU bounced back by beating TCU a few days later, but isI coming off consecutive losses to Oklahoma State, one in the regular-season finale and another in the Big 12 tournament.

Still, the Mountaineers are a dangerous team. WVU has stellar guard play from Miles McBride (15.4 ppg), Sean McNeil (11.8 ppg) and Taz Sherman (13.6 ppg). When you have great guard play, you can go a long way, and any of those three can carry WVU on any given night. So can 6-foot-10 Derek Culver, a first-team all-Big 12 selection who averages 14.6 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.

West Virginia has been involved in high-scoring games throughout the season, especially lately. Over WVU’s final 17 games, 13 went over the total.

The state of West Virginia is a BetMGM sports betting market.
