The estate of Dr. Kendall Wilson Jr., who graduated from the school in 1981, and then later went on to teach there and serve on its Board of Governors, was known for his generosity as well as his expertise.

“Dr. Wilson was such a wonderfully generous man. He was really remarkable in that, you know, he went on to really a significant career in osteopathic medicine where he was both a teacher and a practitioner of osteopathic medicine. He specialized in the treatments that D.O.’s are known for, osteopathic manipulative treatments. And he was he was a superstar,” said West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine President, James Nemitz, PhD.

The gifted funds will be divided evenly between the Foundation’s “Legacy Endowed Scholarship” and a newly established scholarship started by the Class of 1981. Dr. Wilson, who lived across the street from campus, also left his home to the medical school.
