Updated List Of Closed Westfield Streets; 1,640 Without Power

WESTFIELD, NJ — While Tropical Storm Isaias veered west and spared Westfield the worst of its wrath, it still downed trees and wires and caused blackouts that lingered into Wednesday.

On Wednesday evening, Mayor Shelley Brindle gave an update, listing closed streets and saying more than 1,600 residents were still without power.

She also gave safety precautions regarding generators, downed wires, and more. Improper generator use was blamed for sending a South Brunswick woman and her granddaughter to the hospital on Tuesday.
