Westtown Is Home Of Newest 'Malvern School' Opening

WESTTOWN, PA — The Malvern School will open its 5th Chester County location in Westtown soon, welcoming children from six weeks old to 12 to a newly constructed school on E. Pleasant Grove Road.

The school opened its doors on Jan. 18 and is enrolling now.

"Parents in the West Chester area searching for high-quality child care, preschool and school-age virtual support programs that prioritize health and wellness now have a new option with the opening of The Malvern School of Westtown," said Pamela Caruolo, of the Malvern School communications department.

The Westtown location at 5 East Pleasant Grove Road is the fifth in Chesco, but it is The Malvern School’s 27th location. The new Westtown school sits diagonally across the street from Stetson Middle School and right down the street from Sarah Starkweather Elementary School.

Westtown is offering a new Malvern Virtual Partnership (MVP) Program designed to support families with school-aged (K-4) children navigate virtual learning. The MVP Program is a full-day on-site program led by qualified, credentialed teachers in a small group environment that accommodates children on a hybrid or full-time virtual schedule.

The Malvern School’s health and wellness protocols exceed current licensing standards. Its enhanced health practices in response to COVID-19 are guided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), its team of Health & Safety Staff, and a certified Health Consultant.

"Beyond our health and wellness measures, our programs focus on the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social growth of our young friends to help them reach their full potential at critical stages of their development," said Tiffany Nichols, Executive Director of The Malvern School of Westtown.

"Most importantly, The Malvern School is a place where children will learn and feel loved," Nichols added.

The early childhood education schools offer programs designed to nurture, engage and develop the whole child.

"With the COVID-19 pandemic, parents are under more pressure than ever — which is why we have forged ahead to open The Malvern School of Westtown and provide critical early childhood education programs to families who need support caring for their young children," says Kristen M. Waterfield, CEO and Founder of The Malvern School."

"The Malvern School has always been known for offering top-notch early learning programs brought to life by forward-thinking, college-degreed educators. Amid the current landscape, we remain committed to providing an enriching environment where children can learn, play, and thrive with proper health and wellness measures in place,” said Waterfield.

The brand new facility includes nine fully equipped classrooms, as well as two custom-designed specialty rooms with learning stations that focus on sensory experiences, the arts, reading, manipulative play, and dramatic play. The grounds also feature three state-of-the-art, age-appropriate playgrounds for daily outdoor play.

The Malvern School’s curriculum is designed to meet or exceed the standards established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the nation’s largest early childhood accrediting organization. It includes character and language development, literacy, self-help skills, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics).
