WH Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany tests positive for COVID-19

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany revealed her COVID-19 diagnosis on Monday and said she is not experiencing any symptoms

In what is proving to be an ongoing saga of cross-contamination at the White House, it has been confirmed that White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is the latest member of the Trump Administration to test positive for COVID-19.

Monday morning, McEnany released a statement revealing her diagnosis while making it a point to also note she that she was currently experiencing no symptoms.

“After testing negative consistently, including every day since Thursday, I tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday morning while experiencing no symptoms,”  read the announcement that she posted on Twitter. “No reporters, producers, or members of the press are listed as close contacts by the White House Medical Unit.”

“I definitively had no knowledge of Hope Hicks’ diagnosis prior to holding a White House press briefing on Thursday,” she clarified. “As an essential worker, I have worked diligently to provide needed information to the American People at this time. With my recent positive test, I will begin the quarantine process and will continue working on behalf of the American People remotely.”

President Trump made headlines last week when he revealed his own positive coronavirus results shortly after his first debate with Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

Since Trump’s diagnosis on Friday, others in his camp have also tested positive including his campaign manager Bill Stepien, Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway, former New Jersey governor Chris Christie, three Republican senators, Mike Lee of Utah, Thom Tillis of North Carolina, and Wisconsin’s Ron Johnson, as well as the president’s personal assistant, Nick Luna.
