What to watch on TV this week: 'The Crown' to 'The English'

It's a busy week in TV - I'm A Celebrity gets into its first full week of its long-awaited return to the jungle, and season five of The Crown launches with an all-new cast.

Look out for Bake Off's semi-final on Tuesday, while hot new drama launches include Emily Blunt in BBC Two's The English, and James Corden in Prime Video's Mammals.

The best things to watch on TV this week, 7 - 13 November, 2022

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! - ITV - Nightly at 9pm, Tuesdays 9.15pm

Only one episode into the return-to-the-jungle series, one celebrity has already left on medical grounds.

While Olivia Attwood jets back to the UK, Matt Hancock and Seann Walsh are waiting to disrupt the Australian camp with their late arrival.

There's also the rest of the cast to get to know, while Ant and Dec subject them to some truly horrifying trials.

The Great British Bake Off - Channel 4 - Tuesday, 8pm

Last week's quarter-final included some out-of-character drama, as the judges and hosts agreed that this year's batch of bakers weren't quite up to scratch.

Will they rise to the challenge of the semi-final's patisserie week? One person is going home and the rest will achieve the feat of baking in the show's final.

The Crown - Netflix - Wednesday

Every two seasons, it's all change for The Crown's cast, which means the Queen baton is handed to Imelda Staunton.

She'll be joined by Dominic West, Elizabeth Debicki and Jonny Lee Miller among others in this final line-up who launch the penultimate series this week.

It's the 90s, which means we've reached the era of the Queen's annus horribilis, Diana's Panorama interview, and Charles and Camilla's affair becoming public.

The English - BBC Two - Thursday, 9pm

Emily Blunt and Chaske Spencer star in Hugo Blick's tale of 1890s America, full of violence, land grabs and opposing gangs.

Blunt is Englishwoman Lady Cornelia Locke seeking the man she believes is responsible for her son's death in the US, while Pawnee scout Eli Whipp (Spencer) is travelling back to his homeland of Nebraska to reclaim his land.

The pair band together in the face of opposition on all sides to support each other's emotional, risk-laden journeys.

Mammals - Prime Video - Friday

Acclaimed playwright and screenwriter Jez Butterworth has penned this six-part comedy drama in which James Corden plays a Michelin-starred chef who discovers a dark secret about his pregnant wife.

He teams up with his brother-in-law to investigate, but this only illuminates problems in that marriage as well. Sally Hawkins, Melia Kreiling and Colin Morgan star alongside Corden.

Strictly Come Dancing - BBC One - Saturday, 6.55pm

We're past the contest's halfway point and one week away from Blackpool, so things are really heating up in the ballroom.

Will Hamza and Jowita finally get their perfect 40? Who will be in the bottom two? Can anyone else put themselves in the running to win?

Remembrance Sunday - BBC One - Sunday, 10.15am

Watch the annual Remembrance service live from the Cenotaph, which will be lead by the King for the first time.

David Dimbleby presents the BBC coverage and Sophie Raworth is on Horse Guards Parade as the Royal Family and the Armed Forces come together to pay tribute to those lost.
