Whatasurprise! World-famous burger joint offers unexpected opening ahead of Super Bowl festivities

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A much-anticipated burger restaurant is open in Las Vegas just before the big game, the company announced Wednesday.

Whataburger has a surprise grand opening noon on Wednesday at its new Las Vegas Strip location near Waldorf Astoria. The location, which will share its footprint with Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse is the franchise’s westernmost location, Whataburger said Wednesday.

“We’re excited for both locals and visitors to sink their teeth into a fresh new option and find ways to customize their Whataburgers ‘just the way they like it,’” Whataburger President and CEO Ed Nelson said.

The Las Vegas Strip location is set to be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Whataburger and Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse will employ over 300 local workers, the company said.
