What's the Buzz: Attend Coffee & Cars, sample food trucks or visit the Art Fest

Pick any one of the events happening in and around the area to keep your week busy. I’ll be highlighting attractions, activities, and festivals right here, every week. From local music and shows to options for those of you who don’t mind traveling a bit, there’s something for everyone. Be sure to check all activities, as cancellations can occur. The events listed are for May 18 to 27.

It seems every time you turn around there's a new food truck serving our area. Bring your appetite and get ready to sample all the deliciousness this Saturday in Zanesville. This family-friendly event will feature a variety of food trucks. They include All Star Shakeups, Bobsts Kettle Corn, C&R Wells Creations, Freedom Fries, The Funnel Cake Station, K&D Concession, Kingdom Coffee, La Carne Italian, Leaf Home Water Solutions, LeMacaron French Pastries, Schmidt's Sausage Truck, Smitty's BBQ, Smoke Therapy, The Jersey Way, The Crazy Kitchen, Uncle Dan's Old Fashioned Ice Cream and Yardbirds Wings.   • Byesville Farmer's Market returns at 4 p.m. on Thursday and runs weekly on Thursdays until Sept. 28. For more information call 740-255-6911. Byesville Village Park, 216 Meek Ave., Byesville.

  • Coffee & Cars of Guernsey County will host its monthly gathering of classic and vintage vehicles from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Advance Auto Parts, 1717 Southgate Parkway, Cambridge.

  • Backbone Acoustic will be playing at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Cambridge VFW, 1427 E. Wheeling Ave., for their Luau Party.

  • Haley Bundy will be performing at the Summer Kick-Off event, which runs from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday in Quaker City. Ten vendors are scheduled to be at the event as well which will take place near 219 Pike St.

  • Buckeye Trail Track and Football Night at the Races fundraiser will be held from 6 to 11:55 p.m. on Saturday at the Southgate Hotel Tiki Lounge. For more information call 740-489-5005.

  • Make a stepping stone at Guernsey Brewhouse, 4550 Bloomfield Road, Cambridge. Donna Gotschall will teach a 1 p.m. class on Saturday with a follow-up class on Sunday to complete the project. There is a $50 fee, which includes a half-pour or soda of your choice. Seats are limited. Call or text 740-260-4230 to sign up.

  • Saturday. Day of Enchantment. Sponsored by Cambridge Main Street, carriage rides, face painting, crafts, and more are scheduled to take place. Tickets and registration are required for this event. Tickets cost $25 per child and can be purchased at www.eventbrite.com or by calling the Main Street office.   • Guernsey County Street Art Fest. Live music from Haley Bundy, E. Wade Rodriguez, Bo Jamison, and Brian Sweeney will keep the crowd dancing, while a 20-foot-tall inflatable double slide and craft stations will be set up for children. Food trucks will be on site.   • Second annual Guernsey County Reading Festival: Get Wild About Reading! Various literacy-themed activities will be held and hourly door prizes will be given away. Every child will receive a free book and the first 300 will receive a goodie bag. The event is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. and is hosted by the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center. For more information call 330-308-9939.
