What's the Buzz: Bike show and barbecue will take over Wheeling Avenue

Pick any one of the events happening in and around the area to keep your week busy. Whatever you choose to do, I’ll be highlighting attractions, activities, and festivals right here, every week. From local music and shows to options for those of you who don’t mind traveling a bit, there’s something for everyone. Be sure to check all activities, as cancellations can occur. The events listed are for June 9 to 18.

Friday

45th annual Art on the Square. Hosted by the Noble County Artists and Craftsmen, spend a summer evening at the Caldwell square enjoying art, music and food. Vendors will have booths and food will be available for purchase. The event is scheduled to run from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. This is a free, family-friendly event. Saturday

Fabulous Fifties Fling. Nestled in Amish country, the quaint town of Sugarcreek will take you back to the good ole days at this car show and fun-filled weekend. This car show is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Live music by The Belairs will take place for your entertainment. There is no admission fee. This is a family-friendly event. June 18

National Road Bike Show and BBQ Fest. Nothing says summer more than seeing Wheeling Avenue lined with motorcycles with the smell of barbecue wafting through the air. Join Cambridge Main Street as it hosts the annual bike show and barbecue festival. Craft vendors and more will be set up, as well as a patch sewing station and pinstriping station. A hot dog eating contest will take place as well. Multiple food trucks will be at the event, offering barbecue and other options. Scheduled to perform at the event are Tracy Lingafelter, BFH Blues Band, Rattlebox, and Lock 17. This is a free, family-friendly event. The festival is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information call 740-439-2238. Wheeling Avenue, Cambridge.

  • Friday. Black Diamond Music and Arts Festival.  Headlining this year is Elle King, with performances by Marty Stuart, Elvie Shane and the Kentucky Headhunters, to name a few. Kids 12 and under are free. The festival is scheduled to run Friday and Saturday. For more information visit the festival website or the Facebook event page. Tickets range from $85 to $350.   • Saturday. Touch A Truck. Hospice of Guernsey's annual Touch A Truck event allows children of all ages a hands-on opportunity to explore various vehicles and meet the people who build, protect, and serve our community. The first hour will be horn free for those with sensitivities. There is no admission charge, but donations will be accepted. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information call Hospice of Guernsey at 740-432-7440. Deerassic Park, 14250 Cadiz Road, Cambridge.
